One of our aims has been to have a range of bars showcasing produce from great local businesses, run by cool people doing cool things with a good ethos 🙂

We’ve had a Chai white chocolate for while that’s been super popular, and we’re switching the Chai now for the Tyger Tyger Masala Chai from the wonderful people in Exeter 🥰

It’s organic, mindfully sourced black tea from Assam, skilfully blended with cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, black and pink peppercorns, and vanilla.

I have a 2kg test batch in the grinder, and Dean is working on a printed wrapper for it 🍫

Looking forward to tempering and tasting…😋

I made extra of the two Palestine flavours that are in the Artisan egg box, so we could have these special little cubes 💚

Dark Madagascar, with Bazariya Olive Oil and a hint of Za’atar, and Milkt Rose Otto & Sumac berry. The EVOO, za’atar and sumac are all from the West Bank, and for those who missed out on our Palestine box at Christmas, this is a perfect little Easter treat that showcases the beautiful produce of Palestinian farmers.

After a busy day today, are just 4 boxes of Artisan Mini Eggs left (we made a few extra this year!) 🪺

This flavour might just be our favourite - a Vietnam egg made with nibs from the wonderful Marou, that have super bright lime 🍋‍🟩 notes I wanted to keep in there, so I did a short-grind time and added coconut sugar Modica-style, for this year’s variation of the now annual special in these boxes.

They’re citrussy, and have such a good cookie-like texture.

We also have made some cute little gold cubes of the Palestinian duo (olive oil-za’atar & Rose-Sumac), and have a fair-ish amount of other goodies after making some more this evening.

I may finally be running out of steam, so if you really want something, don’t leave it till Saturday!

Open as usual Good Friday 9-4.30, Saturday 9-4, and Sunday 11-4.

Last call for guaranteed Easter delivery! 🐣

I know with it being an early Easter and late school hols, a lot of people have only just realised it’s actually Easter next weekend which is resulting in a bit of a rush on chocolatey things …..we have a fair few orders to pack, and the chocolaterie to stock for next weekend, so to get orders shipped by Wednesday, I’m setting tonight as the cut-off point for guaranteed Easter delivery 🚚

I will hopefully restock the filled Goose Eggs this afternoon….

Next flavour up in the Mini Eggs is a delicious 60% Dark Milkt, enriched with malt. The star ingredient is Rye crumb, from our good friends in Plymouth. It’s finished with a hint of Blackthorn sea salt.

Kate and Sam share our ethics of sourcing, and they’re pretty awesome bakers. Head to their new home underneath .cafe.plymouth for some of their sourdough and fantastic buns next time you’re in Plymouth! 🥖

This combination will soon be appearing as one of range of new bars using produce from the South West. For now, four halves of these tasty little fella will be in the egg boxes 😋

Still some left to order. Shipping early next week, and if I can pull my socks up, there might be a few actually packed to buy in the chocolaterie tomorrow…

Congo Spice - 70% Congo shell, smooth caramel infused with vanilla bean, cinnamon and Kivu pepper from the DR Congo. One of our favourite ever caramels!

Pecan Maple - delicious praline made from freshly roasted organic pecans and maple sugar 🍁

Rose & Sumac - Milkt Rose Otto with the brightness of Palestinian Sumac 🌹

Olive Oil & Za’atar - Fruity Madagascar 78, blended with Palestinian Olive oil and a hint of za’atar for something deliciously different 😋

Chocolate Orange Praline - our milkt chocolate, delicious Piedmont hazelnuts, organic Sicilian orange oil - a classic!

Two beautiful flavours that will be finding themselves in our Artisan Mini Egg boxes this year ; Rose & Sumac, and Olive Oil & Za’atar 🩷 💚

These are made with Palestinian-grown ingredients from the West Bank, and supplied by .odyssey They were super popular in our Palestine boxes last year. So we’ve decided to pop them in the mini eggs!

Other flavours to follow 🙂 Also these are the perfect eggs to say Eid Mubarak to some of our lovely customers and to end positive wishes around the world 💚

Easter! 🐣

It’s an early one, which quite frankly for artisan chocolatiers is an extra bit of fun. I’ve had a few pesky bouts of lurgy recently that have stopped production, so I’m later than I would have liked, but here’s a quick look at what we have…..

Everything is gradually appearing in the shop, and it’s all on the website, except for the new Stuffed Goose-Eggs (which I’m still not sure how to package 🙃)

Shipping will start later this week, with orders including Artisan mini eggs the week after as there’s still a few more flavours to make! 🪺

Will post individual products as I get time. For now, back to packing what’s on the trolley!

🍒 Cherry & Blossom 🌸

The sun is out, and here is our second new Spring chocolate 😊

Cherry & Blossom has a top layer of fruity ganache, made with black cherry purée and infused with Cherry Blossom Sakura extract from Japan 🌸

It sits of a layer of cherry pâte de fruit, is enrobed in Madagascar 78%, and sprinkled with just the right about of salted pickled Sakura petals and Cherry leaves from Shizuoka, which together add a hint of salty bitterness (akin to matcha) 🍃

First up for the Spring Collection! Maple Fondants! 🍁

With a few twists to our classic, house-made fondant, we’ve got a new flavour made from organic Maple Sugar. Soft and gooey, and dipped in 70% Sierra Leone from our friends we love this one as it’s got a lot of complexity but also is just super delicious 🥰
