Our shop is "an Aladdins Cave", it holds stock for any type of craft imaginable. We stock everything from knitting wool and accessories to patchwork fabric, dress fabrics, curtain fabrics, fleece, an extensive stock of haberdashery, dolls house items, art supplies, pocket money toys, puzzles, cake making equipment, card craft, greetings cards and wrap, scrapbooking materials and so much more... W

e are a family-run business that has been established since 1968. We began as a general store stocking items such as pots, pans, soap and tea towels which we sold cheaper than the super market. Each member of our family to join the business has brought a new area of expertise with them which has been incorporated into the shop to make it what it is today. We are proud to say that we are one of the biggest craft and fabric shops in Essex and a dying breed of traditional haberdashery shop that is chocca-block with stock from the front door to the back wall and from floor to ceiling.

We know that sadly haberdasheries and fabric stores are now few and far between 😞, so we are always trying to find ways improve your online shopping experience with us as many of our customers don't live on our doorstep . 🖱
We have recently added a new section to our website called 'New in'. It can be found at the end of the categories bar AND on the homepage as a box. It automatically holds everything that we have added to our website in the last two weeks, so you can always stay up to date with what is new even when we haven't had time to show it off on social media 🙈.
As you can see, this week we have been busy adding the chambrays and some new knitting patterns, as well as the brand new Tilda collection.

Isn't it just beautiful? Inspired by her collections of blue and white pottery, Tone Finnanger has designed these timeless florals, which are shown off beautifully in her catalogue as patchwork quilts that look like tea cups, plates and vases as well as a lovely quilted jacket! We have purchased 16 lovely designs from the collection and we can't wait to see what people make with them. 🥰

The eager eyed amongst you may have seen that we have had our windows changed recently! Taking pictures without too much glare is a difficult task with all this sunshine recently so sorry it's a little later than usual to update you all.

We have gone all out 'Queens' with our window themes for this time! 🐝🏳️‍🌈

On one side we have a gorgeous bee themed summer window encompassing all things beeish! A great big thank you to for supplying us with some of their delicious honey to also showcase alongside all of our fantastic bees. How many can you spot buzzing around our giant Big'Un Queen Bee?

Our other colour-filled window is showing off our very own 'Queen' ready for Pride. We have all sorts of brilliantly bright rainbow cottons, polycottons, ribbons and accessories, perfect for any up and coming pride celebrations over the next few months. Featured in this window is a marvellously creative wig made with some of our felt scrap bags to help give this queen some extra flamboyant flare!
Isn't it exciting just what you can create with a little imagination? (and a load of hot glue!)
