For those waiting patiently for repairs or setups I will finally be back in the workshop from today all jetlagged up! First holiday in nearly eight years, I say holiday but I still spent most of the time looking at guitars.... and graves...

A while back I had the great idea to make a proper replica of the Bigsby Merle Travis guitar. So far I've had nearly five days on it, mostly just trying to scale off the few good photos in existence to make a plan! That hasn't even included the back and sides. Made up some templates today for the majority of parts... going to take a while!

Flippin' Eck, I haven't posted at all this year! Things have been pretty pretty busy, a lot of interesting and really varied things, just literally no time to think about putting them online. The social media king. Anyway... here's a (rather butchered) lovely little early '70s Musicmaster Bass. Quite what or who decided to get a rat to chew out some cavities for pickups rather than just rout them properly is anyones guess. A bit of filling here and there and now ready to fight another 50 years.

When I am carving a guitar neck let it be known I will only respond to the name Markelangelo.

My Casio brings all the boys to the yard.

When I say all the boys, I meant Rhys.

Well, hello there! Been a busy old time and finished a few interesting things just lately. I was asked to make a body for a headless graphite neck à la Steinberger (Don't tell Gibson, I'll get a cease and desist!). Worst bit was trying to scale everything from dodgy internet photos and the tapered neck pocket! Now with new owner, here it is in all its headless glory, African Mahogany body, with bound Sycamore top. Single Humbucker with push/pull coil split. Simple but very playable!

The social media king is back, I think this is my second post this year.

Just put together this pickup winder. When I work out how to use it I'll be dangerous.

Due to popular demand (wasn't that popular) quick demo of the Doublecut. On sale now at a tad under £1100, yes exactly. Quilted ash body, mahogany neck, wenge fretboard, bakelite pickguard, Lollar pickups, Gator hardcase. Handmade goodness at a silly price. Form an orderly queue.

A few interesting mods going on at the moment, a couple of vibrato routs to fill up. This one had a Kahler in, I'd already blocked part of it up before getting this camera so here's the fancy bit on top. Schaller STM and stop tailpiece replacing it so I inlaid a piece of ebony with a cheeky little oak inlay to distract the eye!

Forgive me father for I have not posted to social media for nearly three months! In reality I broke my camera just after the tour and it obviously made things a tad hard on the photos front... fear not you lucky things, I have a new camera! Things have been busy, in interesting ways, all musical but all completely different. At the moment seems to be back to mad modifications, builds and renovations so can't complain. In other news, just look at the way the light caught my Les Paul body this morning. Phwoar. You can look, I'll let you, no touching.
