So many of you have been asking about Poppy masks...
I've been pondering this for a few days and have decided I am going to make some but now that it has been announced parades etc won't take place I would like to do something to help the Poppy Appeal. So all masks regardless of size will be sold for £2.50 once the cost of materials is covered all money will be donated to the Poppy Appeal. Let's see how much we can raise for such a fantastic cause!

Happy weekend all,
Sorry for being so quiet, the return to school and work has been a bit tough going on my little emtional beans but I think we are there...yay!
Thank you all for your continued messages, orders and support and I'm happy to be putting some focus back on sewing and happy to see what this month brings.

Morning all, sorry for the quietness but it's been a busy week. Lots of lovely orders as well as the twins full time has been hard work! But I'm loving the orders, the selfies, the messages of thanks so thank you all very much for your continued support.
I need to update what materials are available so will do so today, so look put in the photo albums on this page.
For now here is my new boy material, already have a matching father and son mask order, which I'm sure will be adorable! 😍

I've had lots of questions with regards to how I make my face masks. I love this, protecting our self's and our families health at the moment is very important so it's only right you should understand the measures I go to, to enable you to do this.
All of my masks are made with 100% cotton with a non woven layer inbetween, this is after researching current government guidelines.
Before starting I sanitise my table and other areas I'm using and wash my hands. I keep hand sanitiser on the table and use regularly. I do not use pins but instead clips so that no holes are made in those important layers of protection. Once finished the masks are then placed into bags (paper so recyclable) and put aside until delivered/collected/posted. As I have recommended to people especially those shielding, masks can be washed as soon as you get them home.

Welcome to Sam's Sewing page...
Thanks to Lockdown I've had the opportunity to explore my love of sewing again and have created this group to show what's on offer.
For now the important topic is keeping us and our loved ones protected from covid19 as we beginning to enter some kind of normality again. As of the 24th July face masks are now manditory in shops including petrol stations, post offices etc (please note children under 12 do NOT have to wear masks but my opinion is that it if they will wear one I'd rather they had one!). I've therefore spent a while creating face masks for the whole family. I found the adults too big for myself, yet too small for my husband and the kids just impossible. Seven sizes have been tweaked, made and tested and are as follows; Mens large/small, Womens large/small, kids under 5, kids 6-11, and teen. All are all made following current guidelines, two layers of tightly woven cotton with a non woven fabric inbetween. They are machine washable in a variety of colours and patterns with elestic ear loops to hold them in place. Prices are £3.50 for Men and Women's and £2.50 for the two kids age ranges.
