One thing I completely underestimated when I took the keys to Blossom 5 years ago this month was just how much goes into running an independent high street shop.
The first few years were all-encompassing: early mornings, late nights, Mothers Day shift cover, New Year’s Day display changes, evening stock orders and a never-ending list of jobs behind the scenes that most people never see.
Over time, though, I’ve learned that building a business isn’t just about doing everything yourself - it’s about building the right team. And I feel incredibly lucky to have Mel, Lollie, Helena, Sophie & Rose alongside me. They are the reason I’ve been able to take a little more time this year to focus on home life and some exciting changes happening behind the scenes.
Don’t worry though, I’m still very much here! Just a little less visible day-to-day and a little more focused on the parts of the business I love most with lots of plans ahead.
