When Brits were asked what makes the perfect high street, independent book shops secured 16th place, with 41% saying they’re an essential. 📚

Wellington is home to The book-ends on Duke Street. They opened in 2023 and the business is run by husband-and-wife team Richard and Mercy, who spotted a gap in the town for a dedicated book shop.💚 Independent shops like these bring something special to our towns — offering unique experiences, personal service and helping create the character that makes places like Wellington stand out.

It’s another example of the independent businesses that help make Wellington’s high street such a valued part of the community.
