Meet the team… well, sort of!

Behind this little flower shop is me… wearing ALL the hats! 😂

I’m the florist, flower sorter, wedding orderer, payroll, bill payer, cleaner, bin emptier, delivery driver, stock checker, admin, customer service, occasional IT department… and the list goes on!

And then there’s the bit you don’t always see… your mind. It never really switches off. You’re constantly thinking about the next order, the next wedding, the bills, the emails, what needs doing tomorrow, what you might have forgotten today, and that little voice asking, “Am I doing enough?” Even when you’re technically finished for the day, your brain rarely is.

Being self-employed is incredibly rewarding, but it’s not always the pretty bunches of flowers and happy occasions you see on Instagram. There are no paid holidays, no sick pay, no “someone else will deal with that” days, and definitely no hiding when something needs doing!

Small businesses are often just one person (or a very small team - Emily 🙋‍♀️) keeping all the plates spinning behind the scenes. Some days it’s exciting, some days it’s exhausting, and some days you wonder how you’re possibly doing all of it.

So here’s a little shout-out to all the other small business owners out there wearing every hat going. 🎩🌷

A little reminder from us during this heatwave!

With temperatures reaching 30°+, we simply cannot keep large amounts of stock in the shop, as certain flowers just won’t last in this heat. This means we don’t have an endless selection available to choose from at short notice.

We’ve had several requests this morning for very specific flowers, including red roses and purple lisianthus, for funeral work and anniversary flowers etc.

These are occasions that, in most circumstances, are known about in advance, so please give us plenty of notice if you have specific flowers or colours in mind. If you pre-order, we will make sure we have exactly what you have requested. 💐

If you haven’t pre-ordered, however, we can only offer what we currently have in stock. We will always do our very best to create something beautiful, but we simply cannot guarantee specific flowers at the last minute, especially in this extreme heat.

So please don’t be upset or frustrated with us if we can’t fulfil a very specific request that has been left until the last minute. We genuinely want to help, but we can only work with what is available to us.

A little notice makes a huge difference, and we really do appreciate your understanding. ❤️

Four weddings in one weekend! 👰‍♀️

It was incredibly rewarding, but I’m not going to lie, it was really, really hard work! Four beautiful weddings, lots of early mornings, long days and plenty of flowers!

I genuinely couldn’t have done it without Simon, who is not only an incredibly talented florist but also such a wonderful friend. I’m so lucky to have had him by my side this weekend.

I can’t wait to share all these wonderful weddings with you over the next few days. There are some absolutely beautiful flowers and special moments that I’m so excited to show you!

We’re now closed on Monday to have a well-earned rest, reset and restock the shop, and we’ll be back open as usual on Tuesday 11th August.

Funeral work will, of course, still be carried out as usual during this time. 🤍
