Bumblee's Preserves

Bumblee's Preserves Small batch artisan preserves, made in my little Somerset Kitchen. Made by Me, Not a Factory It was bliss, I regained my home kitchen & dining room table.

For years I've preserved produce from the garden & allotment using recipes handed down the generations. Finally in 2013 after a year of refining recipes & researching all the legalities, to ensure I crossed all the T's & dotted all the i's, I started Bumblee's Preserves in my home kitchen. I worked in my home kitchen until 2018, when we found a little office space in Creech St Michael which we con

verted into a small kitchen & store room. Well for the most part anyway ;) It also means that I can run courses, where I can share the love of preserves with those eager to learn themselves. My hubby joins me in the kitchen where he creates things with a little more fire for our "The Chillees" range. We hope you enjoy them. Much Love,

Presently everytime we pop out our door we are surrounded by bees. These little Allium “Millennium” I bought this time last year are alive with them.

Well, all my muscles ache and I’m hoarse from talking so much - what, me talking too much?! Never! Surely? 🤣

An incredible few days at Taunton Flower Show. I’ve had the loveliest neighbours, managed to wander around & buy some plants, spent some out of kitchen time with hubster & even came home with an award!

What more could a gal want? New feet maybe, but perhaps that’s asking too much. 🤣

There are a few much-needed thank yous to;

Bea & Beccy — the dynamic organising duo. Two absolutely amazing ladies who seem to have MANY, MANY roles to perform & somehow keep everything going!

Ron & June — our utterly awe-inspiring Artisan Village volunteer Marshalls. Love them to bits & honestly couldn’t have asked for better people looking after us all.

All the volunteers who work so hard behind the scenes & throughout the show to make the whole thing happen.

Our fellow artisans, who work incredibly hard to create such a wonderfully diverse collection of beautiful things — the sort of things that make your eyes widen with delight & your wallet mysteriously become lighter! 🤣

AND you lot — our wonderful customers, both those who have supported us year after year & those who have discovered Bumblee’s for the first time. Forever grateful & always humbled by the lovely comments, encouragement and support you give us.

Last, but by no means least, my totally incredible, wonderful, daft & caring hubby, Nick. The support you give, without question, means more than I could ever properly put into words. It’s been a hard few months & there definitely wouldn’t have been a Bumblee’s without you.

So my lovelies, I truly hope you’ve had as great a few days as I have. And long may the wonderful moments like these outweigh the moments that are sometimes a little tougher than we’d like them to be.

✨ WE WON! ✨

Well… this just happened!

We are absolutely over the moon to have been awarded Best Presented Food Stall at Taunton Flower Show!

And yes, I got a little emotional when they presented me with the award! Soft gal 🤣

Well in fact, I was off having a wander around looking at the plants when Nick rang me and said “GET BACK TO THE STALL NOW!”

Obviously I thought the stall was collapsing or something… so I actually RAN. ( Trust me I don’t do running!)

Only to arrive back and see the Chairman come over to present us with our award and have some photos taken. What a lovely surprise!

After such a fabulous day yesterday, surrounded by so many amazing fellow artisans, and with the two most incredible Marshalls, Ron & June, looking after us, it really couldn’t have ended any better.

One very happy little preserve company today! Yeap happy dance 🤣

Now… I just need to go back and buy the plants I was originally wandering off to look at! 😉

Day 1 of Taunton Flower Show done, home now & ready to head into Vivary Park again tomorrow for the final day.

Lovely to see so many of you today & really pleased to see our Taunton Flower Show competition winner, Emma, enjoying her day at the show!

Emma was making the most of the beautiful sunshine, wonderful atmosphere, entertainment & of course, all the gorgeous flowers. She even made herself a beautiful floral headdress in one of the activities on offer today, very fitting for the occasion! 🌺

It was nice to see her heading home with some Bumblee’s Preserves to enjoy too. Truly hope Emma & everyone had a wonderful day & you all enjoy your preserves too of course.

Looking forward to tomorrow & I’ll hopefully break free from the stall, as the plants are calling me 😆

Oh #%*€ (bum!) that’s the polite version anyway 🙄

Flower arch disaster darling! Lost parts, screws & then flowers fall off - time for a VERY quick rethink. Can’t do the Taunton Flower Show with no flowers 😱

Quick stop at home to try to layout some of the flowers & work out how the heck I’m gonna put them up 🤦🏻‍♀️

Improv it is then, wing it Francine old bean wing it - now most of you know that I don’t wing things - WAY too neurospicy for that malarkey! 🤪 So engage super panic mode & try not to reach for chocolate (think of the diet Mrs Lee!)

Wait to see if what a pigs ear of things I make. Meanwhile it’s time to had back to the kitchen to box orders & do some making. Gonna be another late night me thinks 😆
