Meet Tim, the owner behind Tare & Tide, a local Taunton business that’s been helping people make more sustainable choices for the past 5 years. 💚

From low-waste and vegan essentials to eco-friendly gifts, Tare & Tide is all about making sustainable living simple, accessible and part of everyday life. 🌍

Based in Taunton’s Independent Quarter, Tim has built more than just a shop. He’s created a place that brings together sustainability, community and a passion for doing things differently.

5 years, one local business, and a whole lot of positive impact. 🙌

It’s not just refills of food in the shop, there’s an ever growing selection of treats and extras for you, and all plant based! Vegan cheeses from Weston, yummy mayos, oatmilk chocolate, milkshake powder and hot chocolate from Bath, and chilled Kombuchas from Bristol!

Open Tuesday-Saturday 10-5 with occasional Sunday/Monday hours too. Please do pop by and have an explore, there’s two floors of affordable, exciting sustainable living to see. Cheers, Tim x

So after I posted the other day saying I’m open all Sundays and Mondays through August I realised that I actually already had plans this weekend 🙈🤣 I’m still open all my normal hours Tuesday to Saturday and a few ‘shopkeeper weekends’ sprinkled in as a cheeky bonus!

The vegan pick ‘n’ mix sweets have been topped up yet again! They’re flying out this summer holiday 🍬💨

And don’t worry if you’re not vegan or put off by the word, I promise they won’t kill you 😆 a flat £1.50 per 100g and you can literally pick and mix exactly which sweets and marshmallows you want to snack on!

A Monday morning shout out to all my amazing customers 🫶 thank you! I don’t call myself a zero waste shop, I strongly disagree with the term tbh! It places an unattainable and extreme pressure on people which can lead to guilt and climate anxiety.

Tare&Tide is very much about positivity, inclusivity, and smashing down the elitism and ‘holier than thou’ attitudes that can be really off putting.

You’re doing brilliantly, keep it up 🙌

Lionel and Linda went on a cute little date to the creek a little while ago and now they’re back in stock said it was ok to share the pics!

Amazing large papercraft lobsters that can be made in either colour, only £12, flat for easy postage, and you can even mount them on your wall!

There’s also lots of other lobster themed goodies upstairs in the shop too! Tea towels from LIGA, and greeting cards hand printed by myself!

Extended opening hours are sticking around for the whole summer holiday 🎉🎉 after a successful trial at the end of July with some very busy Sundays and Mondays I’ll be open throughout August including over the bank holiday!
