🔧Another classic saved in the workshop today 🔧

This FunHouse Pinball Machine came in with a ball release issue that turned out to be a little more serious than first expected.

A leaking TIP102 transistor had caused the ball release coil to stay energised, overheating and ultimately melting the solenoid.

After diagnosing the fault, carrying out the board repair and fitting a new coil, the game was back up and running exactly as it should be.

It's a great reminder that sometimes the component causing the problem isn't the part that's failed visibly.

One repaired FunHouse and one happy owner. 👍

These boards are responsible for the sounds, music and speech that bring a pinball machine to life, and after years of service it's not uncommon for faults to develop.
