One thing I always want parents to know before a newborn session is that your baby isn’t expected to arrive at the studio, fall asleep instantly and stay that way like a tiny angelic statue.

Newborn sessions don’t work like that, and they’re not meant to.

There’s time for feeds. Time for winding. Time for cuddles. Time for settling, changing, topping up, and doing whatever your baby needs on the day. Some babies take a little while to drift off. Some need an extra feed. Some want a cuddle break right when we thought they were ready.

That’s all normal.

The session is calm, relaxed and led by your baby, not by a stopwatch. We work around them, not the other way round.

So please don’t worry about whether your baby will “behave.” They just need to be themselves, and I’ll take care of the rest.
