Some soaps quietly become customer favourites.

Westcoast Wildflower is one of them.

Made with plant oils and scented with rose geranium and lemongrass essential oils, it has become a regular repeat purchase for many customers.

People sometimes assume handmade soap is complicated.

In reality, the best recipes are often the simplest.

Olive oil.

Coconut oil.

Shea butter.

A few carefully chosen ingredients working together to create a bar that feels gentle on the skin and lasts well by the sink.

That's still the foundation of every batch I make here in Argyll.

A lovely surprise arrived recently.

Damn Fyne Soap has been recognised in The Perfect Gift Awards 2026 as:

🏆 Best Small-Batch Skincare Company 2026 – Scotland

and has also received the

🏆 LUXlife Sustainability Excellence Award 2026.

Everything is still made the same way it has been since 2008 here in Tarbert.

Small batches.
Plant oils and natural butters.
Essential oils chosen for how they work as well as how they smell.

Thank you to everyone who supports my small business here in Argyll. Every order, recommendation and kind word helps make achievements like this possible.

Every bar starts like this.

Freshly poured and waiting to set before it can be cut into individual bars.

There are no shortcuts here.

Once cut, each bar will spend several weeks curing before it's ready for the shelf.

One of the slower parts of soap making, but one of the most important.

Handmade in small batches in Argyll.

Back in the workshop today.

After a lovely family break, it was time to unpack the suitcase and start packing orders again.

These parcels are heading off to customers who placed orders while I was away.

What made it even nicer was seeing that four of those orders came from new customers.

Thank you for supporting my small business here in Argyll. It never goes unnoticed.

Now it's time to get back to making soap.

A quick note from the workshop.

I'll be taking a short family holiday from 4 June to 14 June.

The website will remain open as normal, and you're very welcome to place orders while I'm away. Any orders received during that time will be dispatched from 15 June.

Before then, I'll be busy in the workshop making sure shelves are stocked and orders are packed.

Thank you for supporting my small business here in Argyll. It means more than you know.

Another order packed up and heading out from Argyll this week.

Soap bars, shampoo bars, conditioner bars and a few samples tucked in alongside them.

Everything wrapped by hand using simple recyclable packaging.

Thank you for continuing to support small makers here on the west coast of Scotland.
