A terrible message…

I received a distressing message last week from customers who purchased a beautiful Grotrian-Steinweg upright from me a few years ago. In their efforts to move the piano it had fallen over, flat on its back!! A visit to Emsworth later and the piano is back on its feet with a few minor repairs required, it will be fine. After two operations on the arm that it fell on, the owner is in recovery. I post this awful image as a warning to anyone thinking of moving their piano themselves.

A welcome visitor

I am at the showroom this morning with Amber and her owners. As you can see she is a beautiful dog and has a temperament to match. As her owners try various grand pianos she is happy wandering around the showroom. Dogs are always welcome 😊

Charmed life

As if tuning a Signature series S130 upright from Wilh. Steinberg wasn’t joy enough, I was treated to freshly made mango sorbet! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it is a charmed life. Thank you Ann

New arrival

This Yamaha C3 has recently arrived. Ben has serviced the action and today Robin visited to polish it throughout. Dating from 1983 it has benefitted from some reconditioning, including the fit of a new set of rollers. We have looked after the piano for a few years and know it to be reliable and joyful to play. The old family piano

We are often faced with emotional attachment to old, worn out pianos. Over the years I have flippantly suggested making them into a drinks cabinet. Seeing this today gave me much joy 🤣

Grotrian-Steinweg

This is the wonderful Grotrian-Steinweg Studio model. We supplied many of these fine uprights that were made in a distinctive matt black finish. In fact, it was the first model of Grotrian-Steinweg that I played, I remember being astounded and mesmerised by the tonal quality. Sadly, this model is not made now but I enjoy tuning every single one of them

Schiedmayer baby grand

Our beautiful, restored Schiedmayer baby grand sold today. We’ll be sad to see it go, it has given extra aesthetic appeal to the showroom for some time now. It’s going to a wonderful home in Wi******er where it will be regularly played and appreciated though. Here’s Ben working in the action to give a lighter touch to suit the pianists preference. It was T-shirt order today, being a little warm in the showroom 🌞
