Today is the anniversary of the day the Lighthouse Bookshop ceased trading. We have missed all of our lovely customers so much but hope you are all well and managing to source your books and cards etc. Don’t forget the Mustard Seed in Faringdon have a good stock of greeting cards and are always willing to order books etc for you. They also have fairly traded goods for sale. (open mornings until 1pm)

Glad to see that Chloe’s Bakery that took over the premises is going well.

A reminder that there will be Thanksgiving service for the almost 40 years of Seekers Light Trust / The Lighthouse Bookshop.
Thursday 11th April, 7pm at St Michael’s Church, Highworth.
We do hope many of you will be able to be there.

Now that things have calmed a little Val & Malcolm wish to say a big thank you to all who gave us the wonderful surprise farewell on Wednesday afternoon and to the many who contributed to the magnificent gift towards a holiday. We had absolutely no idea any of this was going on so well done everyone for keeping the secret. It has been an amazing 24 years managing the bookshop and of course 40 years involvement with Seekers Light Trust in one way or another. We thank God for His guidance through the years. Thanks also to the various friends who have given their time as Trustees and especially to the many volunteers over the years without whom the shop could not function. Thanks also to the many, many customers, both individuals and churches who supported and encouraged us. Last of all (but not least) thanks to Mustard Seed in Faringdon (management and volunteers) with whom we have had a great relationship and mutual support. We are just sad that we were not able to hand over the Lighthouse to someone new to keep the light shining on the High Street.
