🥵 Day Pleasure Fishing with Dad🥵
Yesterday was a chilled out fishing day with dad, but my knees know about it now. Little bit red. Bad dad 😂😂

Had a brilliant day's pleasure fishing yesterday at the brilliant Grange Park Fisheries on Osprey lake. (My favourite lake)!

Set up everything you can imagine and wanted to practise all different methods. Had shallow, overshotted, mugger, pellet waggler, bomb and feeder. You name it I was giving it a go.

Dad decided he'd just use a pole short and bomb rod.
Safe to say it was a brilliant day on all the different varieties of fishing. I've caught Mugging a few, I've caught a fair few on pellet waggler and caught shallow on fixed and over shotted rigs.

Dad had a brilliant day also catching really well (one a chuck) overshotted in the margins 😱😱.

We've both had a variety of fish from F1's, carp, tench, fan tails and crucians, but the best has to be the 1st fish of the day for me. A beautiful instance win gold fish. Job done dad beat 😂😂.

End of the day I reckon we've both had over 100lb of fish.
Once again the Hinders Bait was immense. The 6mm mini wafters worked brilliant today and caught on all the colours and flavours. Defo give them ago.
Few weeks until my next match.
Tight lines

Had to move onto a new lake last week as my other 'new' lake closed due to carp spawning after my 2 visits I managed to get in.

I visited the water on the Tuesday which was a 45 minute drive away to do some research. Armed with a leading rod, rake and bucket of bait and spod I set about finding a few spots.

With 2 swims cleared and primed I returned on the Wednesday for a dawn raid.
Over 2 morning sessions I caught 8 tench up to just over 7lb.

It was difficult fishing with constant raking to keep the spots clear of Canadian pond w**d. I may squeeze 1 more trip in now around my holiday next week before the rivers open.

Tutti wafters on one rod and sweetcorn Betalin wafters on the other kept the bites coming. Spod mix was the usual of h**p, corn, parti blend, Tutti pellets and small Elips all glugged in sweetcorn/ betalin liquid food.

Today I’ve been to Wheatley Hill Angling Club on the big lake. Set up a line at 10m on the deck with maggots and Hinders Bait Tutti Frutti micros and some shallow rigs for over the top. Also set up a short line on a topkit+2 with maggots. Started long catching 2 ide straight away then got loads of weird bites so immediately knew they were shallow.

For two hours I’ve worked between 1-2ft having a fantastic run of ide then we had a massive downpour which seemed to ruin the fishing. For the rest of the session I’ve had to switch between the deck and 2ft of water to get bites but nothing like the run I had.

I did try my short line but only picked up little perch and knew I’d not do a weight with them so scrapped this line off. I’ve finished the day on 62 silvers for 50lb 2oz. Really enjoyed the day even though the last few hrs were difficult. Massive thankyou to mam (Nicola Cutting) for taking me today.

Just finished a 48hr session on Whelford Pools fishery, ended up on 6 fish landed, biggest being 31lb 2oz that I was buzzing about, Blitz and Nut 365 doing the business for me again, these fish are loving the Hinders bait at the moment.

Yesterday I decided to go to the lovely Woodlands Tackle & Lakes Thirsk on Nytro lake. After the bad news on Tuesday I had a bit of a Melt down before leaving.
On arrival I’ve decided to go on peg 18. I’ve set up two short lines one to my left on a topkit+1 and one to my right on a topkit+2. I also set up a 10m line and an edge line to the tree in the corner which I’ve never really thought about fishing before. I’ve started by potting my 10m and topkit+2 line while starting on my other short line.

Started by simply potting in a small cad pot of fishery micros and 6mm pellets with an expander on the hook all soaked in Hinders Bait Tutti Frutti oil. After I picked up my first fish I immediately cut back on the micros and just fed 6mm to prevent the fish eating out the silt quickly.

After about 20 mins I started getting weird indications so had a feeling they had ate the silt which I was correct so moved a foot away and started catching again. I concentrated on this line for another 30 mins while chucking a few 6mm on my topkit+2 line. This line started to go quiet so I’ve swapped to my other short line and picked up quality skimmers and f1s straight away. For most of the day I’ve stopped on this line. When it slowed up I did have a look on my 10m line but not a bite so just stuck at my short line while feeding my edge ready to drop on in the last hour.

Last hour came so dropped down the edge and the first fish I hooked took me straight into a snag. After that every put in was a small ide which I wasn’t complaining about because it was still adding weight to my net. Finished the day on 134 fish for 49lb 14oz.

The floats I’ve used is Ian's Floats F1 carbon slims and carp slims. The elastic I’ve used is Nytro Fishing 8-10 and 18-20 flex. Of course I used my Rivalist 10m power carp pole.
