New Year…New Frames 🎀

I’m welcoming in 2025 with our new frame designs, this is the smallest size on offer and it comes in 4 different colours!

The same colours will come in a larger frame design which will be posted tomorrow 🤍

G I V E A W A Y

We are deep into cosy season now and the C word is creeping up on us 🫢 and this year I really wanted to focus on the gifting aspect of Handmade By Alib… especially bookish themed gifts, as this is where it all started back in 2020 with the resin bookmarks.

It feels apt that today is the day I begin to introduce my new releases as it is World Mental Health Day. Reading is my comfort blanket, my safe haven, when the “real world” is proving too hard, all I need to do is pick up a book and my mind is instantly calmed. Reading has helped me deal with a lot of hard moments I’ve had in the past 5 years or so. Whether I’ve realised it or not, a lot of my focus on things I make are book related in one way or another.

So here I am, introducing to you, Handmade By Alib’s version of Blind Date with a Book. 🫣💕📚

It’s a mystery package, selected only by its genre - the book itself will remain a mystery until arrival. As they say, you can never judge a book by its cover. It comes with a Personalised Ribbon Bookmark, tea bag (breakfast or herbal) and a chocolate bar. The mystery books are pre-loved, so they have been read once or twice already. They are still in great condition, with minimally creased spines and dog ears, and I have hand selected each one personally just to be sure 😊

These will be going live on the website tomorrow evening and to celebrate their launch and world mental health day, I will be doing a giveaway!

✨Focus & Priorities ✨

This year I have decided that I really want to focus on “nurturing my creativity”. In the past I have been lucky enough to have some bestsellers that have sold extremely well, so I came to a point where would only make that design and only had time to make that design. I became burnt out and lost the love for what I created. I’ve come into this year with lots of inspiration and a lot of new things I want to make, I can’t wait to share them with you!

✨Combination✨

Colour combinations isn’t something I work with often, I tend to stick with what I’m comfortable with - the same colour but in different tones.

This week I’ve pushed myself out of my comfort zone a little and experimented with multiple colours! This little project is by no means finished, it still needs a top coat and edging. But I’m not totally hating it, I was going for like a cloud effect ☁️

✨Evolution✨

I started handmadebyalib by making dried flower letter keyrings, this was my introduction to resin. I then went on to experiment with adding colour and made my staple: Galaxy Bookmarks.
This inspired me to try bigger pieces…well not massively bigger, coaster size bigger 😊 it has been so so fun truly finding my style through my coasters. And this year I’ve started to combine my style with dried flowers which has been so lovely taking it back to where it began.
I’ve also tried my hand at creating some artwork too, which I have completely fallen in love with! 🥰
