What are "Inclusion papers"?
I use a lot of these and I am a bit in love with them, but what are they and how are they made?
My two most popular card types that I sell as card blanks, mini envelopes or printed cards are Meadow seed mix and Poppy seed mix.
These are made in the UK by one of the oldest surviving paper mills.
"Meadow Mix" paper, contains 70% recycled material and 10% inclusion of wildflower and grass seeds. This paper is produced on a purpose built wet and press section paper machine, which has no drying section. The paper is hand torn into sheets directly as it forms on the machine, then air dried, so preserving the viability of the seed to germinate.
"Poppy seed" is made in the same way but includes a mix of Poppy seeds.
These papers can be printed on using ink jet printers ( beware, keep your printer clean to avoid a build up of fibres or seeds!), they can be stamped, drawn or painted on, or made into unique handmade envelopes.
Once used they can be soaked and planted, with patience I have found they grow really well - the gift that keeps on giving ♥
These are a big seller for me, making perfect Wedding favours or little Thank you cards
There are lots more types of Inclusion papers which I will introduce over the next few weeks x
