We have recently re-located to Stroud and are delighted to bring to Gloucestershire our outstanding selection of Celtic products and designs - all of which reflect and embody our heritage. The Celtic style has thrived in the
se islands for over 2000 years and that same tradition is being continued today by contemporary designers and craftspeople. ‘Celtic’ is however much more than just a style and in this fact perhaps lies the secret of its enduring appeal. The symbolism is very complex and subtle with many meanings now lost or hidden. In this way Celtic art may function like a mandala ; an object for meditation and contemplation. Many of the designs and symbols such as the eternity knot, the triscele and of course the celtic cross were considered to be talismans of good luck and protection. The spiritual beliefs of the Celts were closely interwoven with the natural world and the worlds of the plants, animals and birds. This close harmony with nature and her patterns and cycles is reflected in Celtic design to the present day.
