Your Pottery Aunties have hung up their aprons for a little holiday…

Time to recharge, gather a little inspiration and get ready for a fantastic Autumn here at our lovely rural studio.

We’ve got some wonderful courses and workshops coming up, including Leyla’s Throwing School - whether you’re completely new to throwing or an experienced thrower wanting to develop your skills further.

Gaye’s new handbuilding course, “From The Ground Up” is all about learning those essential foundation skills, building confidence and discovering where your own creativity with clay might take you.

Because behind the fun and the laughter, your Pottery Aunties are actually rather serious about teaching! 😉

We believe in small groups, individual support and learning at your own pace. It’s about taking the time to really understand the skills, building strong foundations and, most importantly, helping each person feel confident in their own pottery journey.

No pressure. No rush. Just good teaching, encouragement and a very warm welcome.

We can’t wait to get back to the studio and see you all.

Clay! An amazing material which can ignite your creativity. Whether you want to throw on the wheel or handbuilding with clay it gives you so many possibilities.
Watching our Members and students working on their projects is always exciting, all of their projects are unique to them , developing their skills, drawing in on what inspires them, experimenting and exploring; it’s so lovely to be part of it.
This week there has been a lot going on raku firings, Summer Goddess workshops just to name a few, there have been so many beautiful projects made this week.

What would you like to make? Can you imagine learning to throw your own mug, decorating it , adding a handle , glazing and firing it…. Drinking your coffee out of a mug you’ve made yourself is just the best!

Made it Monday - Martin, these are just lovely! They just go to show that a 'set' doesn't have to be carbon copies of one another. The glaze ties these pieces together perfectly but have showcased playing with texture too.

Raku Magic!🔥
We had a fantastic Member’s Raku day yesterday. A fabulous day of Raku magic, never quite knowing what the raku firing will do to the glaze and the surface of the pots made by our lovely members …..it’s so exciting!

Did we mention this autumn term is going to look a little different??
In the handbuilding studio our lovely Gaye is going to be focussing 'From the Ground up', there will be a programme of workshops teaching the fundamentals of handuilding: pinch pots, slab building and coiling. A range of workshops from beginner to confident potter in each discipline no matter what stage of the journey you are at.
