I hope have enjoyed following along with these memories and here they are from 2024 onwards.
The shop has continued to get better and better, I think so anyway. I love hearing how much people love our cards, the coffee and of course the candles. Always learning and working with Wendy Batten ⚓️ Experienced Business Coach and Retail Expert even attending a business retreat in Canada 🇨🇦

Buying a building!!! I mean this is pretty amazing. I never in a million years thought that I would do this after making a couple of candles at home. But wow!
Learning how to make a damn fine cup of coffee
Finding a traitor on the island stephenlibby and then watching everyone in the UK fall in love with him
Being able to give Marion the opportunity to work with us and knowing that she brings us more joy than she realises.

Ok well the years 2020-2021 were certainly interesting and life changing. For starters I had always said I didn’t want a shop and guess what I did in 2021… opened a shop 😉
2020 we had a visit to Birmingham to meet Theo Paphitis and The Crew and it was just before lockdown began
At the start of lockdown I thought I’d raffle off a hamper to raise money for Bethesda Hospice since they wouldn’t be able to do any of their fundraising. It took me and everyone completely by surprise and raised an incredible amount of money.
Once we were allowed back in the water we discovered our cat liked to swim… 🤷‍♀️
I invested in new packaging designed by Ros O'Donnell Design and photographed by the very talented de Lotz Product Photography | Georgia
I then thought opening a shop would be a good idea during a pandemic - which turned out to be the best thing ever and brings me so much joy, and occasional tears.
We love when the Hebridean Baker visits and signs his books and lots of the SBC team who have moved on but certainly not forgotten .x Mairi Maciver Aimee Castle
We had our biggest wholesale order and it was a mammoth effort by everyone
Lastly family means everything and I love that I get to work this job around them ❤️

Ready for 2018-2019 ❤️
We began 2018 with our candle subscription box. I love putting a new fragrance together each month and can’t believe it has been going for 8 years. Now includes wax melts and tealights.
We got our first stockist and forever grateful to KJ Macdonald shop in Stornoway.
Started building the SBC team with Emma and Kate Emma MacAulay .muir.5815
Got rid of plastic packaging starting with our wax melts
Moved out of home and got a workshop in town. It was so good to start getting that work life balance back in sync.
Was chosen by Theo Paphitis to attend Spring & Autumn Fair for our first trade show. Never been more out of my comfort zone but met some amazing people and learned so much!
Met and made some cool candles for Kjs Bothy Bakery Kirsten Gilmour and had Andrew McAlindon come over for a whisky candle.

What an amazing 2 years! See what we got up to for 2020-2021 tomorrow
