We’re really in the thick of things here, & it’s ACE!

Stonehaven is a wonderful community & we’re lucky enough to be right in the heart…

Looking out on Market Square means we see EVERYTHING, from the Stonehaven Business Association car boot sales to the annual Stonehaven Feein' Market, the Stonehaven Folk Festival to the Stonehaven Christmas Lights Switch on Event, & of course the beautiful Stonehaven Horizon Group flower displays - & Stonehaven Land Train!

We’re surrounded by other fabulous independent retailers & businesses. Plus, it’s only a hop, skip & jump to the sea!

Things I LOVE About Being In My Wee Shop (Part II)…

❤️ OUR COOL FIXTURES & FITTINGS! ❤️

The shop has always been a bit retro by design (it’s pretty obvious I have a soft spot for decades past in some of the products we sell…), so I guess it makes sense that most of our shop furniture is vintage and/or repurposed.

From the hotel radio casing shelving on the back wall to our vintage glass display sales desk & cash register bureau, MBC is full of character & history - who says shop furniture has to be boring?!

Old medicine cabinets, vintage suitcases, clothes driers, a car luggage rack & more - look out for all the interesting bits in the shop next time you’re in!

And I really like to use wooden drawers, cake stands & charity shop finds in our window displays too…

Mixing old & new just feels like the right fit for MBC. It’s all about the vibe & unique shopping experience!

♥️ BEING SURROUNDED BY COLOUR & TALENT ♥️

Sure, every little corner of MBC is absolutely PACKED with ‘loveliness’ - & that’s really nice - but there’s so much MORE to it.

I’m actually surrounded by brilliant IDEAS, huge PASSION & incredible SKILL…
In the work of the amazing artists, designers, makers & creatives who dream up unique & interesting products. Of small businesses who truly care about what they do. Of individuals who work hard to bring us all beauty & quality & fun & style.

It’s awe-inspiring really.

And VERY cool to hear the ooohs & aahhs of customers appreciating it too!

I’m grateful to be in such a joyous environment every day.
Thank you to all our wonderful suppliers - you’re AMAZING!

We were loooooong overdue a window change so I finally stayed late and got stuck in!

Not my most creative effort ever, but after a few weeks of mainly cards in the window I’ve tried to include plenty of our new gift bits...
More on those to follow too though, because there are just so many fabulous additions to our offering right now!!
