Good morning 👋 it’s Thursday, so no shop today - but I thought I’d share the news…

Something rather raggedy has been stirring at Wickwood Cottage…

Over the past few days, scraps of pencil, crooked hats, patched clothes and some decidedly unrespectable little characters have been appearing on Lady Dinkles’ drawing table.

They weren’t really planned.

They certainly weren’t invited.

And yet, somehow, there are now three of them. 👀

They call themselves The Raggedy Folk.

Who they are, where they’ve come from and quite how many more of them are hiding amongst the pages of the sketchbook remains to be seen…

But one thing is becoming increasingly obvious.

They have absolutely no concern whatsoever for looking respectable.

And we rather like them for it. 💚

Good morning lovelies 👋

🍋 A close call in the Wax Maker’s Workshop…

The bowl of Lemon Meringue melts was looking rather alarmingly empty yesterday.

In fact, we had all but sold out. 😳

Fortunately, the Wax Maker had spotted the impending lemony crisis and disappeared into his workshop…

And this morning? Fresh Lemon Meringues are setting nicely and the bowl is preparing to be filled once again. 🍋🤍

Just in the nick of time.

Apparently running out of Lemon Meringue is not permitted at Wickwood Cottage.

The Wax Maker has spoken. 🍋

Good morning lovelies 👋

A new chapter begins at Wickwood Cottage… 🍃

Something has changed at the Cottage.

Over the last few days there’s been an awful lot of shifting, shuffling, measuring, muttering and the occasional “well… that wasn’t quite where I thought it was going to go.” 😂

But we’ve done it.

The Wax Maker’s Workshop has come out of hiding. 🕯️✨

For a long time, much of what happens behind Wickwood Cottage has happened… well… behind Wickwood Cottage.

But we’ve always wanted this little shop to be more than shelves of things to buy. We want you to see where some of those things come from. To see the making, the experimenting and the general pottering that goes on here.

So now, when you visit, you might just find the Wax Maker at work.

You can watch.
You can ask questions.
You may even get an answer. 😂

And alongside him there’ll still be Lady Dinkles sketching, painting and creating whatever happens to have wandered into her head that day.

It feels as though Wickwood Cottage is slowly becoming what perhaps it was always supposed to be…

Part shop, part workshop, part creative hideaway - and entirely Wickwood. 🍄🌿

The door is open today 10–4.

Come in, have a wander and see our new chapter for yourself.

Good morning lovelies 👋

Well the Frenchic has moved… but it hasn’t left the Cottage. ❤️

Those of you who know Wickwood well may notice things have shifted around a little next time you visit.

Our Frenchic paints have moved from their familiar spot in the main shop and are now tucked away elsewhere in the Cottage, making room for our ever-growing Wax Maker’s Workshop.

We won’t be bringing in any new Frenchic stock, but everything we currently have is still available to buy.

And we rather like the thought that somewhere amongst those remaining tins might be ‘the one’.

That colour you suddenly need for a little table.
The perfect shade for a cupboard that’s been waiting patiently.
Or just enough paint for one of those “I know exactly what I’m going to do with that…” moments.

So, Frenchic hasn’t disappeared.

It’s simply moved a little further into Wickwood. 🌿❤️

And you never know… the colour you’ve been looking for might still be waiting there.

The Cottage is closed today (Monday) while we continue tweaking, shuffling and adding those little Wickwood touches to our newly arranged space. 🌿

But we’ll be open as usual tomorrow, Tuesday, 10am–4pm and you can come and see what we’ve been up to! ❤️

Well we’ve surely been busy in the shop today (not open of course)!!
The change our work has made is just delightful 🤗 I wasn’t sure our shop could get any more ‘cosy’ but it has - wait till you see it!
Until then… there’s been a couple of cheeky little characters darting about while we’ve been moving around, but more on those later…

A little update on this pretty lady…

She had so much interest when we posted her that we no longer have any left in stock… until Wednesday (delivery scheduled).

So, although she temporarily doesn’t hold a place in the cottage she will return!

But of course, until then, there are so many other curiosities to tickle your tastebuds
😛
