I don’t take pics when I go into schools but the school shared this pic. Every kid in class made at least one piece from clay after hearing me go on about my journey from being an MC to ceramic artist to CleanTech innovator and why we need to find solutions. I swear younger people are more clued up about the environment than adults. Some of them even got to try out some of the cutters I designed and 3d printed myself. Had some really positive feedback from the school governors.
Lots more sessions and material planned for Liverpool and the British Science Festival 🤞🏽. This curriculum I’ve planned is getting longer 😀

Graphene gotta upgrade.

It’s the thinnest known material. We know some people doing some interesting things with graphene. I’m tryna figure out how to tweak it 🫠

Carl Jung said to truly understand yaself and grow as a person, ya gotta face and accept the parts of yaself that ya usually hide or don’t like. Even if there’s some pretty dark bits.

People in Stoke say I grew up ruff when they ask me which part of Liverpool I grew up in 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Ya gotta recognise ya flaws, mistakes, and hidden feelings instead of ignoring them. Ya then a more complete and balanced version of yaself 🧘🏽‍♀️

If there’s one thing I learnt growing up, especially if ya lived in Toxteth: ya gotta believe in yaself, even when nobody else does.

sums it up nicely

To the untrained eye, this just looks like a bunch of squiggly lines. To me, it’s like using lots of emojis like this 😍 , but with science-based waves 🌊 instead of faces. Which I then turned into a basic pattern.

Sorry, not sorry 🤣

Say hello to Graphene!

Maths helps scientists figure out the best way to make graphene by tweaking stuff like sound power and time.

I transformed a mathematical research paper into a fully realised 3D printable form (ie it’s not 2D anymore). This is what happens when you have interdisciplinary thinking and creative problem-solving.

This project is more than just a design, it’s a bridge between abstract mathematical thinking and real ex*****on 🤪.

Added ‘Black History for Every Day of the Year’ to my library. This book’s perfect for them moments when ya wanna dive into a few pages without committing to a marathon reading session 🏃🏽‍♀️. A different kinda flexible friend.

Created by David Olusoga with his siblings Yinka and Kemi, it’s packed with stories from ancient times to modern day. Each page reveals something different - from the anti-slavery movement to modern icons like Beyoncé and Stormzy.

No dusty shelf life for this one. It’s perfect for those in-between moments - morning teas, lunch break, or right before bed. Filled with quotes, poems, and illustrations. Even the hardback cover 😍.

🖤📖

💡 Did you know it includes facts like the first Black Samurai in Japan and a Black woman who discovered the cure for leprosy?

I guess no-one will believe me until I’m peer-reviewed.

Black & brown women have to work harder than white women in STEM, and there’s still barriers. Intersectionality and bias are blockers.

Especially if you don’t have a degree in science.

Just as well I’ve spoken about it briefly to the right people.

Gentrification tag on one of the oldest buildings on Brick Street. Oh the irony!

This building looks Victorian, with lots of new ones popping up around it that weren’t even there 20 years ago.

Gentrification involves replacing or altering historic structures in favour of newer developments (which has definitely happened around here). By tagging this word on an old building, it highlights the process it critiques: the tension between preserving history and making way for newness.

Defacing history or social commentary?
