Happy world ballet day 🩰

Ballet has always been in my life and always will be! For about 18 years I’ve done ballet and it’s given me so much confidence, discipline, creativity and my love for it led to my business being started and a job at ROH! I owe a lot to ballet 🫶🏻

I love this art form with all my heart and don’t think I’ll ever stop dancing! It’s in my blood! ❤️

For World Ballet day I am sharing some of my own photos over the years of dancing at my happy place! Most of them from my favourite place at the barre 🙈 in my fave leotards, its literally all I wear for dance now 😂

I am so blessed to have such an amazing dance school and teacher who really has helped me grow so much as a dancer 🫶🏻

Although ballet can be tough I think most of us will agree the love for it outweighs the hard parts ❤️

Had to have a little photoshoot by this beautiful Welsh waterfall on holiday this week 🥀

I’m training my boyfriend up to take photos of my skirts for me 😂🙈 this was an ‘accident’ shot but I loved how the skirt looks like a poppy or rose 🌹It was worth the walk in my pointe shoes to the top of the waterfalls to get this shot. More to come!

This is my favourite skirt ever the maripods elegante 🫶🏻 It’s made up of an underlayer which is a double full circle, and an overlayer which is another double full circle, gathered around the back to reveal the underlay.

Finally got around to sharing these photos from my dance show back in August!

I made this tutu back in April and did some re-makes on it for the show. I LOVED dancing in it and it was a complete childhood dream to be the Ballerina in the Party Dance.

My entrance on stage was coming out of a box. (Thanks to my mum for getting the photos of me trying to fit inside it 😂 and I’d when I just came out of it)

My favourite thing about this dance was getting to be on stage with my little cousin (who is really like my sister!) She started dancing because I did ballet, then I stopped and it is all down to seeing her in her first show that I started again. Sharing the stage with her was a really special moment ❤️

I’m definitely going to be making more tutus for people not just myself. I have tutu skirts up on my website already for people to buy 🩰 my next one is an autumn fairy tutu 🍁

Being surrounded by ballet and costumes all week coinciding with the panorama episode coming out has given me lots to think about what even is a ‘ballet body?!’

When I started LHD I started with one motto ‘be perfectly you’ for one reason, I wanted everyone no matter their age, gender, ethnicity, background and size to know here they will find a skirt that fits them perfectly!

I didn’t want anyone to feel like they were squeezing into their skirts just because they have slighter wider hips then the ‘average’ person. Or feel like their skirt is drowning them because they have shorter legs then the ‘average’ size.

I wanted everyone to feel comfortable in their skirts! Which is why I’ve always asked for measurements for every order instead of doing a standardised sizing chart. There is no ‘average’ or ‘standard’ or ‘ideal’ ballet body.

In the wise words of all you need to have a ballet body is have a body… and do ballet!

Here are two photos of my beautiful ambassador in one of her new skirts! This was a beautiful lace fabric and I really enjoyed making this skirt 💙
