Local food producers, restaurants, cafes are you looking to source more local produce ? Or are you just starting out on your food production journey? You’d do well to hook up with these absolutely wonderful dynamos of productivity and human kindness 👇🏻👇🏻

We're on the lookout for people that might be thinking of dipping their toes in the water of commercial food production as we start pulling together Middlesbrough's Farmstart programme!

We'd be supporting new growing enterprises with land, some facilities, training and support, aiming to start with stuff in the ground in March 2022.

If you're looking to expand your growing to make a little cash, or have a new idea for earning a crust that you'd like to explore with our support, then please let us know by either completing the Google form below, or just dropping a quick PM.

We'd also love to hear from people who can help in other ways: if you run a cafe or restaurant desperate to source local produce, if you're a chef who could share what you struggle to find, if you're a farmer who wants to talk large scale with us, if you have skills or experience to offer in support fledgling enterprises (think exciting things like HR, marketing, IT!) - message us! Let's get more of our food into our town!

Fiver Fest (October 2021) is go!

If you have been involved in the past you should have an email (check spam if not)
If you haven't been involved and are an independent business in Stockton or around read the bottom of this post to see it's all about.

I will be the first to admit that I have perhaps not given Fiver Fest the attention it deserves, so I am putting out a plea for some inspiration and support so we can really shout loud and long about just how amazing the indies in Stockton and surrounds are.

Please get back by Friday 10th September to let me know if you would like Stockton to be a part of October's Fiver Fest and if you can offer any support in helping make this one the best yet. Things that would be really helpful are:

Some help going around some of the indies and getting them on board with offers;
Some social media promo support;
If you know a printer that might be willing to do some leaflets at cost (there is an event in the marquee on September 25th. I think it would be great if we could have some leaflets to hand out then);
Volunteers to hand some leaflets out on Saturday 25th September.

"FIVER FEST is returning (we run this three times a year).. the next one will be 9th-23rd October 2021. It’s a chance for independent businesses to use their collective power to encourage people back to our town centres, to say thank you to customers who supported them during these testing times and to prove once again, that the small guys can compete with the online giants & the supermarkets. In fact they beat them hands down in many ways, but most of all their contribution to our local economies.

We’re not waiting for the government or some big organisation to do something, we are cracking on and doing it ourselves. Like before, no fuss.

We just ask that you look at this as not just promoting your own business, but promoting ALL the independent businesses in your town.

When we work together, everybody wins."

We wanted to get across what Totally Locally was about – not the actual doing, but the feeling you get when you shop Totally Locally. Difficult, but the “Manifesto” was our answer. We ran it in the Totally Locally Times, and people started cutting it out and sticking it up in shop windows…

So we thought let’s give it away for free. The Totally Locally Manifesto has travelled the world and pops up in all sorts of places! Even as far as Waiheke Island, New Zealand.
