We love a good before and after... 😍

Just look at the difference our Autism Angels team made to this front garden! Using their hard work and skills, this garden went from weeds taking over the gravel to a clean, tidy, and welcoming outdoor space 💙

Our Autism Angels are a group of autistic adults who come together to learn handyperson skills with support from our passionate staff team. They then put those skills into practice out and about in our local community. Through projects like these, our Angels are able to make a real difference for those who need that little bit of extra help to maintain their spaces, while also gaining value knowledge and experiences along the way 🛠️

Every day in our Angels service is an opportunity to learn, grow, and create positive change for autistic adults and members of our Tees Valley community 🤝

Exciting News! 🌟

We are incredibly proud to share that Autism Matters has been selected as a finalist in the Environmental Award category at the BBC Radio Tees Make a Difference Awards 2026! 🏆

This nomination recognises the amazing work of our Autism Angels project, where autistic adults learn practical skills with support from our staff team and use those skills to make a real difference in communities across Teesside.

From restoring neglected gardens and community planters to building bird boxes and helping local people with outdoor projects, our Angels are improving local environments while developing valuable skills and experience along the way.

To be recognised alongside other organisations making a positive impact in our region is a huge honour, and we're incredibly proud of every Angel who has contributed to making this possible 💙

We are also delighted to have been invited to attend the awards ceremony at Hardwick Hall in September, where we'll join other inspiring individuals and organisations from across the region to celebrate the difference being made in our communities.

Thank you to BBC Radio Tees for recognising the work of our Angels, and thank you to everyone who continues to support the project 🙏

Hi everyone 👋

Here’s another photo round-up of our Angels’ hard work from last week!

Our team has been out in clients’ gardens working on some fantastic transformation projects, taking spaces that needed a little TLC and turning them into tidy, welcoming, and well-maintained gardens using their knowledge, skills, and dedication 🪴

When the weather wasn’t on our side, the Angels spent time at AMHQ learning and developing new skills to take with them on future projects. They also got stuck into improving our own surroundings, helping to tidy up the AMHQ car park and creating new staff parking signs 🪚

We hope you enjoy these photos as much as we do. Thank you all for your continued support of our Angels project. It’s wonderful to see the team's hard work being recognised and celebrated, and every bit of encouragement means so much 💙

Good evening all 👋

Our Angels have had another fantastic week ☀️

With the sun shining, the team have been busy out in our clients' gardens, putting in plenty of hard work. From cutting grass to tackling weeds, they have helped transform outdoor spaces and get them looking their best 🪏

The team have also been spending time in our AMHQ carpark, helping to tidy, improve, and maintain the space. They have also added some beautiful new flowers to the handmade planters outside our shop, bringing even more colour and life to the area 🌻

Our team have been busy working on some amazing garden transformations for our clients, helping get their outdoor spaces ready for summer. From weeding and grass cutting to hedge trimming and general garden maintenance, they’ve put in so much hard work and determination to make a real difference.

Our Angels have been doing an incredible job transforming our clients' gardens, and the before-and-after photos speak for themselves. They really show the difference their hard work makes to people in our community 🍃

They’ve also still been busy creating those amazing planters we sell in our Autism Angels Shop! Every single step of the process is done by the Angels themselves, from measuring and cutting through to building and painting.

It was fantastic to welcome them in to see firsthand what our Angels have been getting up to, meet the team, and watch our work in action. They got to experience the incredible stuff the Angels service does every day and the positive impact it has in our community 🛠️

Evening everyone,

We hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend! 💙

Here’s a look at some of last week’s fantastic moments with our Angels.

The team have been busy getting out and about, making the most of the spring sunshine, helping to tidy and transform clients’ gardens by painting fences, cutting grass, and neatening up the edges. They’ve also been out in the community, taking pride in outdoor spaces and giving them a well-deserved refresh 🍃

Back at AMHQ, they’ve been hard at work too, brightening up the car park with beautiful flowers and even building a platform for our outdoor seating area to make it a really welcoming space 🌻

A lot of hard work and dedication all around. Well done to everyone involved!
