I know this announcement may come as a shock to some, but after much thought and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to close the shop on Saturday 1st August.

This has not been an easy decision. Like many small businesses, we have faced increasing costs, particularly with supplies. Cocoa prices have almost doubled since I first opened in 2021, and energy costs have continued to rise. These pressures have made it increasingly difficult to continue in the way I would want to.

The decision has been made a little easier by an exciting new opportunity. I have been offered a role in the pastry kitchen at Rutland Hall, which will allow me to continue developing in the area I am most passionate about. I see this as the next chapter in my career and a positive step forward.

I hope people will understand the reasons behind my decision to close the business. I would like this to be seen not simply as another shop closing in Spalding, but as a celebration of the next step in the career of a young, aspiring chef.

I also want to make it very clear that this decision has no connection to Spalding BID. I believe BID continues to do valuable work for the town, and I fully support them in continuing that positive work.

I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this chapter of my life. Your custom, encouragement and kindness have meant so much to me. As one chapter comes to an end, I am looking forward to beginning the next.

I wish everyone all the very best and hope you will continue to support your favourite independent shops.
