Cora is modelling this wonderful 1930s/40s Brown Pork Pie Hat – Linney, Derby – 6⅞ / 21⅝” / 55cm

A wonderfully rakish late 1930s–1940s brown fur felt hat by Linney – “Art in Headwear”, Derby.

Beautifully shaped with a tall crown and turned brim, finished with a woven brown hatband with a flourish of jewel-coloured feathers.

The original interior is in lovely condition this has been well looked after, the Linney gilt-stamped leather sweatband and original paper size label still present.
Riley” is handwritten in ballpoint on the inner leather band, presumably the name of a former owner.

Size: UK 6⅞ – approximately 21⅝” / 55cm head circumference.

1930s / 1940s Cream Silk Chiffon Turban Scarf

This beautiful scarf/turban reminds me of the old Hollywood movies, it is very glamorous.

A wonderful 1930s/1940s turban scarf in cream silky
The fabric is soft, delicate in appearance but durable.

Made from a long length to wrap as you wish, it has a fabric-covered button half way down the length.
This gathers the fabric together in the centre so that it can positioned above the forehead.

The fabric drapes softly down from there to be styles as wished. Simply tie around the head, or a bow at the neckline either wrap around or loosely draped.
It will also look wonderful worn under large brimmed hat .

This is sweet 1950’s blouse will fit a 36/38” bust up to a 32” waist. Made from white cotton batiste, with a blue bib yoke to the front, the bib is edged with embroidered appliquéd leaves and tiny white embroidery spots. The back is plain and it’s gorgeous.Just add jeans #1950

I have had more than two weeks of ill health and endless bureaucracy, both of which can do one!!
Drawing makes everything seem less of an uphill climb. I have quite a way to go with this little hare.

I’ve been having a delve through some of the crates in my stockroom and bringing out pieces that have been tucked away for years.
These pretties are generally there because they are wounded, and this lovely 1930s ivory silk charmeuse pyjama set being one of them.
This will fit circa 36/38” bust and a 28/30” waist.
Made from buttery soft, fluid ivory silk charmeuse, the set comprises a sleeveless V-neck top with matching wide leg trousers.
The neckline is worked with delicate floral cutwork embroidery with pale green detailing, with further embroidery to the little patch pocket and fine picot edging.

The top has a fairly straight silhouette and the matching trousers have that lovely loose, easy drape typical of period lounging pyjamas. The trousers also have an elasticated waistband and the same cutwork embroidery running down each outer leg.
There are two old repaired tears to the upper back of the top, one at the centre neckline and another across the right shoulder\. Both repairs are secure but visible and are shown clearly in the photographs\. There is also another in the trousers, a small vertical tear near the waistline that rather looks like a dart—don’t ask me what happened here, all I know is it is still very wearable.
Offered as found and gently price , a beautiful original set despite her wounds.
