Have you seen the latest DIY SOS? In this week’s episode they work alongside BBC Children in Need to substantially extend The Joshua Tree’s wonderful facility for children with cancer. We were lucky enough to play a small role in the build, by donating twelve automatic hand sanitiser units.
DIY SOS x BBC Children In Need
BBC One’s DIY SOS has teamed up with BBC Children in Need for another meaningful build. This will be a life-changing renovation for the charity chosen.
DIY SOS is the BBC’s flagship home renovation programme, and it’s presented by Nick Knowles. His team take on big builds in limited time and, with the help of the larger community, aim to help transform the lives of deserving projects and individuals.
For this year’s Children in Need special, the two have teamed up to renovate the Cheshire centre of The Joshua Tree. They are transforming the site by extending the facilities – allowing more children and families to be accommodated. This means more people will be able to get the crucial support they need.
The Joshua Tree
The Joshua Tree is a charity that provides support to children living with cancer and their families. Dai and Lynda Hall established the charity in 2006 following their son’s diagnosis of leukaemia. From their own experience, they decided to create The Joshua Tree to facilitate a service that supported the emotional wellbeing of the whole family throughout the whole process.
Currently, they support over 300 families across their region through therapeutic play, fitness/PT sessions, counselling, and wellness support. They have two centres in Cheshire and North Wales but the need for their support is constantly growing.

Green Magic
We are pleased to say that Green Magic (Sign-Holders.co.uk) were able to help play a small role in this incredible build. We donated 12 wall mounted hand sanitiser dispensers positioned around the centre. These will help the centre and its users be able to maintain high standards of hygiene, which is essential.
It’s only small, but everything helps, and we are thankful that we were able to assist in this meaningful project.
