We’re pleased to have reached a key milestone with Vistry agreeing the forward sale of 141 affordable homes to Abri at Fordham. 🏡

This agreement will help accelerate the delivery of much-needed affordable homes in West Sussex, enabling the first phase of the development to move from planning to delivery, with work expected to begin in September 2026.

Once complete, Fordham will provide 1,500 high-quality new homes alongside extensive infrastructure and community facilities. Through the Vistry and Abri joint venture, 960 of these homes will be delivered to help meet local housing needs.

Sally Ingham, Director of Development at Abri, said, “This agreement secures a significant number of affordable homes for Abri customers and marks the next stage of delivery at Fordham, transforming a long-held vision into a new community with homes, green spaces, transport links and facilities for local people.” 💬

Could mutual exchange help you to find the right home? 🏡

A mutual exchange allows you to swap homes with another social housing customer while keeping the security of your tenancy. Whether you’re looking to be closer to family, need more space, or want a home that’s easier to manage, mutual exchange could be an option for you.

Abri customers can use HomeSwapper to search for a swap or you can find your own exchange yourself and we’ll support you through the process, every step of the way.

We recently welcomed The Granges residents and the local community to an information day to share updates on the proposed designs for the final blocks of the redevelopment. 💙

We’re proposing some changes to the heights of the buildings across the remaining plots. These changes would help us to deliver the new homes sooner and keep the building heights consistent across the development. We’re also proposing to relocate the community orchard to help protect it from any future construction activity.

Paul Quinn, Director of Regeneration at Abri, shared:

“Our aim is to keep residents and the local community fully informed and involved throughout the redevelopment and it has been fantastic to see such a great turn out for our site tours and our community information day.”

We value feedback from residents and the local community and we’d love to hear your views on these proposed changes before we submit our planning application, which we expect to do in August 2026.

If you’d like to share your comments or have any questions, please get in touch with the team at [email protected]. ✉️

Each year, we build around 1,000 new homes – creating foundations where families can feel safe, settle in and start to thrive. 🏡

There’s a good chance your journey began through the same process, via your local council and our Home Connections team. But what actually happens behind the scenes before the keys are handed over?

To find out, we spoke to Brittany, one of our Home Connections New Build Officers, who shared what a typical day looks like.

Before and after of property repairs! 🤩

Our Planned Cyclical Decorations Team have recently completed some fantastic work repairing the rendering on a property in our South region, giving this home a fresh look.

Not only does this work improve the appearance of our customer’s homes but it will also protect the property from damage that could lead to issues like leaks, damp and mould.

Swipe to see the transformation!

Residents get their first look inside the new homes at The Granges! 🤩

Last Friday marked an exciting milestone for The Granges redevelopment project. Coinciding with 'I Love Windsor Day', customers were welcomed inside to see their future new homes in the first block of properties to be completed.

Customers and local residents were shown inside the structures of the one-bedroom and two-bedroom flats, as well as one of the three-bedroom townhouses on the estate.

They were especially impressed with the site and the materials being used to build future proof, energy efficient homes.

Kerry Donovan and Terry Meggison have lived at The Granges for four years and shared:

“It’s a chance a lot of us at The Granges would never get – to live in a brand-new place.”

“I found the site tour really useful - it was really nice to see the space we’ll be moving into and to get the sizing of the place. We’d already got all the measurements and the floor plans but seeing it in person is great. I’m also really happy to see the amount of storage we’ll get – that will make such a difference compared to what we have now.” 💬

Work is progressing at pace for the 413 much-needed, high-quality new homes built for the local community, which will be ready to hand over in early 2027.

From rising rents to a place of their own. 🏡

After nearly 10 years in the private rental market, trying to save for a deposit while their rent continued to increase. Ali and Yasmin found a route onto the property ladder through Shared Ownership at Horlicks Quarter in Slough.

What started as a search for a more affordable way onto the property ladder became an opportunity to create a secure future for their family in a community they love.

"Prior to seeing the development, I hadn't even considered moving to Slough. But after visiting and realising it was only 20 minutes into London by train, and seeing how lovely the development and surrounding area is, we were sold."

Their story shows why affordable housing matters. Behind every statistic is a real person or family looking for security, stability and a place to call home.

We're proud to be creating more opportunities for people across the South of England to thrive.

“Shared Ownership allowed us to swap our London flat for a village home.” 💬

After six years in a one-bedroom Shared Ownership apartment in West London, Jack and Stacey made the move to a three-bedroom home in Ottershaw, Surrey, giving their growing family the space they needed.

Using the proceeds from the sale of their previous property, they put down a £13,500 deposit to buy a 25% share of their new property. For them, Shared Ownership wasn’t just a first step onto the property ladder, it became the key to upsizing too.

Now their children have their own bedrooms, Stacey has a dedicated workspace, and the family can enjoy a garden and village lifestyle, all while staying within easy reach of London. 🏡

“Our dreams of upsizing were made possible by sticking with Shared Ownership.”
