Advice I know at 48 that I wish I knew at 38...

✨Use the supplies.
✨Start the project.
✨Don't save the pretty paper for a special occasion.
✨Creativity isn't a luxury; it's important.
✨Your craft room doesn't need to look perfect.
✨The project doesn't have to be perfect either.
✨The friends you meet through crafting will become some of the best people in your life.
✨And most importantly, stop waiting for "when things quieten down." Because life never really does.

Make the card. Sew the quilt. Learn the technique. Buy the storage. Enjoy the hobby.

The time spent creating is never wasted. 💗

What would you tell your younger crafty self?

Clocked out of work mode for a little while this afternoon and gave myself permission to just play.

No deadlines. No emails. No to-do list. Just me, some pastels, a blank piece of paper and a Craft O’Clock Academy session I’d been meaning to catch up on for ages.

A few smudged fingers, several “that doesn’t look right” moments and one slightly wonky butterfly later and honestly? I’m quite pleased with it. 🦋

Definitely not perfect, but that’s kind of the point. Sometimes creativity isn’t about getting it right, it’s about giving your brain a different job for an hour.

Considering this was my first attempt, I think this little butterfly has earned a place on the “I’ll be trying that again” list.

Now I’m wondering why I don’t make time for this more often. 💕

Some days, the to-do list can wait.

Between a four-month-old dachshund discovering her bark (and apparently deciding everyone needs to hear it), a grumpy nine-year-old terrier, a very needy fourteen-year-old cat, and a two-year-old cat whose life philosophy seems to be pure chaos, it’s been a little noisy around here lately. 😅

Add in work, deadlines, and the general juggling act of life, and I’m definitely feeling the effects of not quite enough sleep.

So this afternoon I’m officially clocking out for a bit.

The desk is cleared, the pastels are out, and I’m finally catching up on some of the Craft O’Clock Academy projects I’ve missed. No emails, no spreadsheets, no “just one more thing” jobs. Just a little creative time to switch my brain off and refill the tank.

I’m hoping to carve out some more crafting time this weekend too because, honestly, it’s been far too long since I made something just for the joy of making it.

Fingers crossed the pets cooperate - although I suspect Stevie already has other plans. 🐾💙

🚨 Apparently my job sounds highly suspicious…

I build secret hiding places for crafting addicts.

I help people stash hundreds of crafting supplies in plain sight.

I make it possible to own 47 pairs of scissors and still claim you’re “organised.”

And honestly? I’d do it again tomorrow. 😏

What’s the most suspicious thing hiding in your craft room right now?

That empty little corner?

Turns out it was hiding a whole crafting department. 🤭

One quick wipe of the camera and suddenly there’s room for a sublimation printer, ScanNCut, heat press, supplies, blanks, tools and all the bits that somehow multiply when you’re not looking.

This is why I love clever storage. It’s not about having a bigger craft room. It’s about making the space you already have work harder for you.

Also, Stevie is still convinced her bed should have stayed there. I disagree. She disagrees with my disagreement. 🐾😂

What’s currently taking over a corner of your craft room?

POV: Going for a walk for my mental health…

Some people head for the beach.
Some people head for the countryside.

Me? I walk down the hall and into my craft room. 😂

A few minutes surrounded by colour, creativity, unfinished projects and far too many supplies I definitely “needed” is sometimes all it takes to reset my brain.

Fresh air is great and all, but have you ever stood in your craft room, looked at your stash and immediately felt happier? 💙

Anyone else use crafting as their therapy?

Confession time…

Every now and then we have a unit that needs finding a home a little differently, and this week it’s the turn of a brand-new Knightshayes and a brand-new Woolacombe.

Both are listed on eBay, both are flat-packed, and both are waiting for someone to give them the craft room they deserve.

If you’ve been planning your dream craft space, need more storage, or just love the thrill of an auction, now might be the perfect time to take a look.

The auctions finish next week, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

I can’t wait to see where they end up and what crafty treasures they end up storing. ❤️

Good luck if you’re bidding! 🤞✨

Would either of these fit perfectly in your craft room? 😊
