National Thrift Shop Day encourages everyone to buy second-hand and reduce landfill.

We call them charity shops of course, and down under they’re op shops. Growing up though, saving money and spending sensibly was always referred to as “being thrifty” 😀

I think my first recollection of a thrift store was as a teenager watching Desperately Seeking Susan, and Madonna’s jacket being snapped up by Rosanna Arquette!

All around the world people love a good deal, even those that even emotionally invested in the good cause the shop is supporting.

Browsing social media, it seems some second-hand stores are absolutely massive, almost warehouse size…they make our little Viva Shop look very cosy!

Whether you love a bargain buy, are watching the pennies, or hoping to spot something to sell on for a profit…do pop in and see what’s new in store this week 💜

We know the Summer holidays are rather child-focused but this week’s Friday Fun is for the grown-ups with these cool book donations 📚

‘One Grump Or Two’ is giving Very British Problems vibes don’t you think?! 😁

August the 8th is International Cat Day but we’re sadly lacking in feline features at the moment!

We do have some simply lovely meerkat triplets as an alternative however this 😻

HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother (1900 - 2002) was the nation’s favourite nan 💜
