With less than a week to go, here’s everything you need to know about getting to Slaithwaite Duck Race on Saturday 13th June.

As part of our commitment to reducing the event’s environmental impact, and alleviating parking pressures in the village, we ask visitors to choose low carbon travel options wherever they can.

📍 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
• Slaithwaite Spa Park (stalls & entertainment from 1pm; race ends approx. 4.30pm)

🚫 𝐕𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 & 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠
• There is very limited parking in Slaithwaite.
• On Duck Race day, no vehicles will be allowed into Spa Park, except for stallholders.
• We strongly encourage walking, cycling, or public transport wherever possible.

🚶 𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐭
Spa Park is a 9 minute walk from the centre of Slaithwaite, located between Manchester Road and Bridge Street.
Via Bridge Street (recommended route):
• Start at Bridge Street beside Monsoon Tandoori Indian Restaurant.
• Walk downhill past Cornfields Day Nursery on your right.
• Just before the road bends left into Platt Lane, look for a footpath on the right.
• Follow the path over the small footbridge, then turn left into Spa Park.
Via Manchester Road:
• The park can also be accessed directly from Manchester Road via the woodland entrance.

🚲 𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐁𝐢𝐤𝐞
• Cycling is a great option for avoiding congestion.
• Cycle down Spa Lane off Manchester Road (What 3 Words: contracts.wizard.faster) into the park.
• Cycle to the entrance on Bridge Street (What 3 Words: ready.widen.inner) and walk in from there.

🚆 𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧
• Slaithwaite Station sits in the centre of the village.
• It’s a 9 to10-minute walk to Spa Park.
• Regular services run to Huddersfield, Leeds, and Manchester

🚌 𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐬
• Frequent bus services run through Slaithwaite from surrounding villages, Huddersfield, and Manchester.
• Most services stop close to the village centre, making Spa Park an easy walk.

🚗 𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐫
• Only a small amount of paid parking is available in the village.
• Expect the centre to be busy — please consider alternative travel where possible.
