They're not all created equal.

And if your child is home educated, you know how much thought goes into choosing the right activity.

So here's what actually matters:

1. Skills should stack.
Each session should teach something new that builds on the last. Not just "make a thing and go home".

2. Sustainability isn't a buzzword, it should be lived.
Children learn values by doing. When they turn an old piece of fabric into a beautifully transformed lampshade, they get it in a way a worksheet never could.

3. Socialisation matters as much as the craft.
Home ed kids don't always get that peer connection during the week. A good session gives them both.

4. The right teacher changes everything.
Patience, clarity, knowing how different children learn, that's not something you can fake.

5. A free taster removes all the risk.
If you're not sure, you shouldn't have to pay to find out.

I'm running free taster sessions.
KS1, KS2, KS3 and a SEN focus on the 30th of June, 7th and 9th July.

Completely free. No commitment. Just come and see if your child loves it.

And if any of these hit home, message me INFO.

Summer EcoKids Craft Camps July and August 2026.

Is this camp suitable for my child?

It's the question I get asked most. And honestly? I love that parents ask it.

Because it tells me you care about getting it right for them. Not just filling a day in the holidays.
So let me answer it properly.

EcoKids Craft Camps are for children aged 5 and up. No upper age limit, teens come too and absolutely love it.

Small groups, so nobody gets lost in the crowd or left behind.

No experience needed. Not even a little bit.

I'm an ex-primary school teacher with 15 years in the classroom. I know how to read a room. I know how to spot the child who's quietly struggling and needs a different approach.

Every project is hands-on and genuinely achievable. We're not doing anything fiddly or frustrating. We're transforming real things into something brilliant. Trainer glow ups. Jewellery from reclaimed materials. Desk tidies from cereal boxes.

Things kids are actually excited about.
If your child has additional needs, please just drop me a message before you book. I want to make sure we get it absolutely right for them.

Every child deserves to leave feeling proud of what they made. And they will.

Three years ago I was going through cancer treatment. Chemo. Infusions. Two days at a time, weekly then monthly.

And every single time, I got dressed up.
Not to pretend everything was fine. But because choosing how I showed up was the one thing I could control. It kept me positive. It kept me fighting.

Some of those outfits were charity shop finds. One was a jumpsuit I immediately regretted when I needed the loo hooked up to four lines. 😂

This is what self-care looked like for me. Not bubble baths and candles. Getting dressed with intention and refusing to let treatment define me.

I'm sharing this now because it links to everything I do at Vintage Chic ReLoved. The way you dress, the way you show up, it matters. More than you think.

When did you last get dressed just for you? 👇

Not all brushes are created equal. And using the wrong one? You'll feel it.

Here's a quick guide to what I actually use in the studio.

The Frenchic Round Brush
This is the one I reach for most. It holds a gorgeous amount of paint, gets into the details beautifully, and gives you a really satisfying, even finish. If you only invest in one brush make it this one.

A Cutting In Brush
You have a choice between an angled cuttung in brush which is perfect for getting into corners, along edges and anywhere your round brush is just a little too chunky to reach. Or you can use an ordinary flat brush and I show you the perfect cutting in technique at my workshops.

A Radiator Roller
For large flat surfaces, drawer fronts, table tops, big panel doors. A small radiator roller is your best friend. Smooth, quick, and streak-free. It covers ground fast without the brush marks.

The golden rule?

Right tool, right job. Don't try to roll a spindle or cut in with a chunky brush. It'll drive you mad and the finish will show it.

works beautifully with all three and because there's no separate primer needed, you're not doubling up on coats either.

Save this one for when you're standing in the DIY aisle not knowing what to grab. 👇

Thank me later ❤️
