We met in 2006 at university through shared circles of creativity and design; painting, baking brownies and dancing the night away to drum and bass. Fast forward through 15 years of architectural endeavours and we’ve now chosen to express our creativity in a new way. We’ve designed this business to respond to the question of ‘What can I do to reduce the impact of fast fashion in the world?’ We don

’t need to tell you all about the environmental, economic and social impact that fast fashion can create, we trust you already know about that. But we have some great solutions to offer you, with the aim of empowering you to make some wonderful choices for your clothing. Our Social Sewing Days aren't about producing the perfect garment or learning as much as possible in a single day. They're about taking time for yourself, switching off from the pressures of everyday life, and enjoying the simple pleasure of creating alongside like-minded people.

Bring along your own project, enjoy plenty of conversation, share ideas, celebrate each other's progress and leave feeling inspired, refreshed and just that little bit lighter.

I'm trying really hard to keep my cool about this. But bear with me.

This weekend my teenage son announced he wanted to sew his own denim shorts - to be more sustainable, and to make exactly the style he wanted to wear. And then he just... did it.

I think the last time he picked up a needle was years ago. And here we are.

He's already asked for more denim so he can make the pattern again, this time with some fit and style tweaks to get it closer to the shape he has in his mind. Which, honestly, is exactly how it should work.
