Really enjoying this build. It's gunna be an absolute beast when complete. Few posh bits , few strong bits. Winter DH HARDTAIL rig. Whoever buys this is gunna be one happy bunny through the dark months. Will be ready for sale in a week. Keep an eye out.

It's always nice to start the day off with an easy job.
This headset had lots of play and sounded poorly.
A quick inspection and it's clear the ball bearings have had a hard time unmaintained. 🤢
Disassemble ✅
Clean✅
New ball bearings ✅
Grease✅
Reassemble ✅

It's amazing how we get used to a bad feeling bike and don't notice small details.
If this was left any longer the bearing cups would also be shot resulting in more waste and more cost. Neither of which we like

Today we've got a classic case of neglect. As you can hear from the first vid it sounds like terminator on a hangover.....

Wheel bearings shot ❌
Free Hub shot ❌
Axle seized from bearings being shot ❌

Replace bearings ✅
New free hub (non serviceable) ✅
Clean and de burr axle ✅
Re fit and jobs a good "n" ✅
Second vid shows it all sorted and sounding crisp.
