NORTH YORKSHIRE OPEN STUDIOS

This Saturday we will be filling one of our main jewellery cabinets with over 60 pieces created by Emily Knight - Moran the owner of Studio Vault.

Since Emily opened the gallery back in 2015 her time to develop her own Jewellery practice has some what depleted. Naturally being pulled in directions to create a sustainable business that has always stayed true to its original ethos of representing high quality craftsmanship from artists based all over the Uk.

In recent years the business has allowed Emily to take a step back and employ two days a week, to run the gallery. This has allowed Emily to dedicate time for her own practice. This weekend will be the very first time she has showcased her work in the Art trail and Emily is very excited to see her full collection all displayed together.

We will be open longer hours due to Open Studios
6th and 7th June 10 till 5pm
13th and 14th June 10 till 5pm

If you are also in the area do pop in to see other local open studios and in Horton in Ribblesdale, and .farrer in Clapham, frank Gordon in the mains Settle, of Rakein Studios, Sandrigg Laithe outside Settle and Elaine Newington Ward at Bracken Rigg outside Settle (near Rakein studios) and further out is .makesstuff and at Keasdon.

We have local flyers if you are visiting and plan to visit us all, we can help direct you from one studio to the next.

We like to tailor each competition around each unique event, and focus on the artists work that we are representing.

For Rebecca Burt we wanted the main focus to be all about the beautiful
Dendritic Agate

To take part we are asking you all one question, relating to this specific ring. We want you to really look closely at the stone and the most creative and imaginative answer will win.

So the big question is

What do you see in this stone?

Your answer can relate to a real or imagined place, or an object.

The winner will be contacted on Sunday 3rd May after 6pm

ANNA LILLEENGEN

We are welcoming the work by into the gallery, the first photographer we have ever shown. Anna works primarily with vintage cameras and analogue processes. She is based in Harrogate, but is predominantly inspired by the Scandinavian peninsula.

We love the subject matter Anna has captured through the lens’s and the soft sense of tranquility that has been captured by the weather often hovering over water leading into the shadows of tree lines.

Gallery shot, ready for Easter

We have not shared a still picture of the gallery for quite some time, it all been about the reels. Don’t get me wrong I love putting together a reel of all our new stock, and one is coming very soon.
However as I was leaving last night I captured this shot and loved the stillness of this image. Somehow it’s still nice to have the opportunity of looking at an image for the length you want, as opposed to the length of what the reel allows. See here it is a current image of what the gallery looks like with all its little hints of spring. Ready for Easter.

MEET THE MAKER REBECCA BURT - 3rd May

We are super excited as our dendritic agate queen is visiting us on the 3rd May.
She often uses the most magical stones within her work Dendritic Agate, that often look like tiny plant life forms inside a stone or a landscape painting.

She encapsulates these stones by setting them in a mixture of two tone metal gold and silver or oxidised silver.

So many people are drawn to Rebecca’s work and the totally unique stones she uses. We really can’t wait to see all her jewellery together, in our main cabinet for one weekend only.

Happy New Year

And what a year it has been for us. It has by far been the busiest one for us by a long way.
Not just in the gallery but personally as well. I got married to the love of my life .sax ,ran my first ever marathon, London in aid of the British heart foundation. The gallery turned Ten and we welcomed to our very small team.

It has been a year full of so many joys and I couldn’t have done it without everyone supporting us, the artists we work with and also our amazing customers, that allow us to keep my passion of Studio Vault going.

As always during January I will be taking time off and going upto the Isle Of Lewis so me, Spencer and Salvador can spend some quality time with my parents

JANUARY OPENING HOURS

The gallery won’t be fully closed this January so if you do want your Studio Vault fix, do pop in and see Sara as she will be opening the doors every Saturday in January.

I wanted to finish this year off with a sculpture that marks the most memorable day of my life so far. I commissioned to create a sculpture that captures our wedding day this was for Spencer Christmas gift and we think she has captured it so well.

We can’t quite believe it is the last Saturday before Christmas. Me and are both in today and we have bundles of Christmas spirit if you are not quite feeling festive yet.

We also love helping people find that special gift and our job is made easier as we still have stunning collections arriving like these pieces from who captures mesmerising stones like opals and tourmalines in a mixture of two toned golds.

CIARA BOWLES

The wonderful created these two very special pieces for us for our ten years in business exhibition. Where we asked twelve jewellers to create a ring and a pair of earrings inspired by Yorkshire. Ciara used the magical Oxenber Woods above Austwick as her inspiration. We completely love this set the flowing sense of pattern she has created in the gold entwining in between each stone and if you look closely you will see a engraved leaf detail in one of the stones.

This exhibition is on until the 24th December so there is still time to see this beautiful set and if you fancy you can always have a play and try them on.

EMMA CALVERT STUDIOS

Just a gentle reminder that we are open everyday right up until 3.30 pm on Christmas Eve so today you will find us in the gallery ready to help you with any of your festive needs.

We are really lucky to be showcasing the beautiful work by
this Christmas her stunning jewellery entwines vintage ribbons in a braided effect to create statement pieces. Totally worth popping in and having a look at Emma’s work as it really is stunning.
