We had our prerelease tournament for the Pokémon TCG Chaos Rising set (Early release starts tomorrow, standard street date is this coming Friday!).

No photos before the street date, because them's the rules, but also because we were all way too busy having fun to really take any; instead, have a photo of a Pikachu in a mug, eating a salad leaf that I took some time ago (and edited my feet out of 😅).

It was a really nice afternoon where everyone came for the cards but stayed for the companionship and the game.
It didn't matter that some hadn't played for over 20 years, and others had only a vague idea of how the game worked when we started.

Definitely happy with our decision to schedule it on a Sunday, because it would have been a real squeeze on any other day, even with our new (massive) table.

Thank you to everyone who has commented so kindly on the news of my retirement.
I'd just like to clarify yesterday's post.
I am still retiring, in the Summer. But any of you who have been in the shop recently will know that what I've wanted is either a shared space, or someone to take on bookselling in Seaton.
And ta-da! That's what will be happening.

Ilse and Jonny will be expanding their current range of
books, and I'll be there regularly with a pop-up bringing new titles and more. Between us we'll be covering all the usual bases, custom orders included.
Watch this space, it's all happening in August/September

In the meantime, come and take advantage of my closing down sale!

We have some exciting news 😁

You may have seen that Jenny at the Owl and Pyramid Bookshop is retiring this summer after eleven and a half years.
She'll be passing the torch to us, and we're really pleased to be taking it on.

Jenny will be with us regularly, so her expertise and love of
bookselling isn't leaving Seaton - it's just moving down the road.
We'll be expanding our books significantly, with a range of genres for all ages, as well as custom orders.

More details to come as we get closer to August/September. In the
meantime, pop into Owl and Pyramid and take advantage of Jenny's sale!

Last chance to grab a place for the tournament tomorrow!

I promised you a post about our Perfect Order Prerelease Tournament 😅

We caught the very beginning of the prerelease window and will hold the tournament on the 15th of March (this coming Sunday!).
Sign-in starts from 11am, and the tournament itself will start at 12.

As always, spaces are limited, so please sign up beforehand via message, email, phone, in person with your Play! ID .
Priority will be given to players who attend our league events or have attended the previous prerelease tournament.
