Big thank you to the 9 people who joined us for today's litter pick & beach clean.
Fortunately the weather forecast was much better than expected and it was another glorious day in the 'foot. Unfortunately, I got the tide time wrong, so only 2 people headed off towards Monkstone. The rest of us headed towards Coppet and a packed Main Beach.

We received several "thank yous" along the way - which is always appreciated.
Less welcome were the 4 nappies and 14 bags of dog poo found along the way!

The results are as follows:

0.85kg along Brewery Terrace plus a pint of butts 🤢
1.75kg along the Incline
Of which 1.15kg is recyclable

13.25kg off the beaches plus 1.95kg recyclable

♻️ 3.20kg total recycling included
27 cans
1 plastic fruit container
16 plastic bottles
7 glass bottles
1 half pint glass
6 plastic drinks glass
1 bike chain

Plus a fish skeleton believed to be from a boar fish

We are delighted to announce that we have been provided with a Bra Bank

Local GirlGuides from Saundersfoot and Narberth have just returned from an amazing trip to Switzerland, part of a larger group from all across Pembrokeshire. We hope that the money raised via the BraBank will enable other local Guides to experience amazing trips in the near future.

Great start to the week - large box of biscuit and cake wrappers plus a box of rubber and vinyl gloves are off to to be ♻️

We get paid £1 per kilo for the plastic we recycle - which goes into a charity pot.

It's just been announced that the recycling scheme will close soon. So if you have any bread bags you have been collecting for us, please drop them in soon 🙏🏻

♻️ We've had several people ask us recently what it is we take in for recycling, so we thought we would do an updated list:

Biscuit 🍪 🥨 & cake 🍰🥞 plastic wrappers

All of the items are recycled - and the vast majority raise money for local charities such as and GirlGuiding units in Saundersfoot & Narberth

Apologies - but having spent yesterday sweltering on the harbour, we have decided to cancel July's beach clean due to the forecast and tide time.

Hopefully things may have cooled down for the next schedule clean on 16th August - 11.30am

In the meantime, if you would like to do a beach or village litter pick, please pop in to the shop to borrow some bags and equipment.

The shop will be closed today, 11th July, as we will be on the Harbour decking, with fellow Wombles, at the SeaFest.

The shop will be open again on Sunday from 10am
