THIS WEEK’S MINI HAS LANDED!

Say hello to the newest member of our Mini family — the PIGEON!

He might normally be found wandering around town looking for somebody’s chips , but this little guy has found himself a new home at Gift & Receive!

Our pigeon now takes his place alongside the rest of our growing Mini collection, with another new character joining the family every Monday.

The Pigeon is officially in!

5 Things I Wish I Knew Before 3D Printing!

When you first start 3D printing, it looks simple… load the filament, press print and wait.

Then reality kicks in!

Here are 5 things we've learned along the way:

🧼 Keep that build plate CLEAN
💧 Store your filament properly
🤦 Failed prints WILL happen
🔧 A little maintenance goes a long way
🐢 Faster isn't always better!

3D printing is definitely a learning curve, but that's half the fun. Every failed print teaches you something for the next one.

Bailey’s got a busy day ahead of him today!

We’ve got all our new laptops ready to go, so today’s job is renaming them, getting everything set up and downloading all the software we need for our 3D Printing Parties & Sessions.

With the new laptops now in place, we can accommodate up to 10 children per party, with everyone able to get hands-on and have a go at designing and creating their own 3D prints.

Lots of setting up today… but it means even more young people can get involved!

A little proud family moment from us at Gift & Receive!

As many of our customers know, Gift & Receive is very much a family business, and if you’ve visited the shop, there’s a good chance you’ve met Bailey helping out behind the counter or with the 3D printers.

Today was GCSE results day, and we’re very proud to say that Bailey has passed everything he needed to pass!

His next chapter is sixth form, where he’ll be spending the next two years studying Game Design — something that fits in pretty well with life surrounded by computers, designing and 3D printing!

So today the printers can manage without him for a few hours while we celebrate with a Chinese buffet and a well-earned spending spree!

Massive congratulations, Bailey. We’re all incredibly proud of you!

Now onto Year 12! 🎓🎮

Our little black and white ocean friend has officially joined the collection and will be taking pride of place in his very own space alongside all the Minis that have come before him.

Ever wondered what’s actually inside your 3D print?

It might look solid from the outside, but most 3D prints are made using an internal structure called infill – and there are loads of different types!

Grid, Lines, Cubic, Triangle, Gyroid… each one can change the strength, weight, material used and print time of an item.

⭐ Gyroid is a brilliant all-rounder
💪 Cubic & Triangle are great when strength matters
⚡ Grid is quick and simple
💰 Lines keeps material use and print time down

This is one of those little things happening behind the scenes that you’d never normally see when you pick up a finished 3D print!
