We have a beautiful new yarn in store this week! The very clever folk at Oxford biocolours have developed a dyeing process that uses colour derived from plants, not petroleum, and is completely colourfast, without requiring a mordant. And just look at the gorgeous range of colours they’ve produced! The base is a lovely next-to-skin soft Shetland/BFL blend with excellent stitch definition which is produced and dyed in the UK. Come and see/feel it for yourself, in store now 🧶.

Learn to knit socks over three Thursday evenings at Flock this June🧦.

Socks are the perfect summer knitting project. Easy to carry with you, they’re ideal for travel, or just relaxing at the beach. And there’s nothing like a hand knitted pair of socks once the weather gets a bit cooler!

In our Sock Club you’ll learn everything you need to make beautiful top down socks in three two-hour sessions. The yarn, needles and pattern are all included. This is going to be the last Sock Club for a little while, so if you’ve been thinking of joining us, now is the time…

Dates: June 11th, 18th and 25th, 6-8pm

I’ve finished my Practice Potato 🥔. It’s the first project from Alexandra’s Garden Vegetables and the perfect introduction to adorable vegetable-crochet 🥰

Train knitting 🧶. I’ve just updated the website with some lovely Muud project bags, including this Cleo crossbody which I’ve been ‘testing’ for a few months now…(I love it!).

Back in stock!!! Crochet Kits in Cans never hang around for long in the shop. We’ve added two new varieties (peas and sweetcorn) as well as two wonderful books: Alexandra’s Garden Flowers and Alexandra’s Garden Vegetables which each include 30 crochet patterns and step by step instructions, making them perfect for both beginners and experienced crocheters. I’m going to warm up with the Practice Potato, then make a carrot for the shop - I can definitely see this becoming a new obsession!

Chris was in first thing today to post out orders and he snapped this picture of our haberdashery cabinet looking lovely in the early morning sunshine. The shop will be back open at 10am tomorrow (but we’re always open online 😉).

Our newest shop sample is the Victoria Shawl from gorgeous book Summer Knits. This little triangular shawl is perfect for the breezy early summer weather we’ve been having down here on the south coast. Ours is knit in Wooltrace 4-ply held with a strand of Berenice in the most perfect sunny yellow shade 🌞.
