Hi everyone 👋🏻hope you’re keeping well 🤗 We’ve been having lots of lovely messages recently from past customers saying they can’t wait for the Easter holidays to bring the kids racing up The Digey to the Jellycat shop💖🐰!
Well, much as we’d love to see you all again we don’t want any little ones disappointed so just a reminder that The Glass Tree is no longer open as we retired last October.

Woohoo we’re open again! So good to hear a ‘buzz’ in the town! And we’re pretty much buzzing here in Jellycat land too!! 🐝🐝🐝🐞🐞🐞🌼🌼🌼. We’ve been asked many times over the years, how we arrived at our name The Glass Tree, and for those who might not know, we chose it for two reasons. My Dad was once a well known Glassblower in St Ives and had a studio on the corner of the harbour front (now known as the Whistlefish) He used to sit in the window displaying his skills as a glass blower, creating his glass animals, flowers etc. ( he was particularly well known for his snowdrops) whilst Mum, who sadly died 5 years ago, served all the customers.
Before we bought our own shop here in The Digey, I was making greeting cards using lots of acrylic crystals which looked like glass. So it seemed appropriate to follow the family tree and combine the use of glass in the name of our company. Sadly this week, my Dad - The Glass Blower of St Ives - passed away at nearly 93 years of age. So as a tribute to him I’d like to post a few photos of him doing what he loved best ( well, that, his faith and his home made wine!) God bless you Dad ❤️

Christmas window display done, shop reopened after lockdown, and the first bottle of mulled wine has gone down a treat🍷! Big thank you to all of you for supporting small businesses in these strange times, it’s been such a boost for us all!
I’ve been super busy making Christmas jumpers for all the bunnies, and our gorgeous Jellycat are getting their Christmas stockings out to hang up for Santa’s visit. Christmas 2020 we’re ready for you!! Have a very Happy one! 🎅🏻☃️🎄🐰🎄☃️🤶🏻
