For weeks now I pondered about attending the convention that went on in Truro today (8th August 2026) as a trader - COMICS. My reasons:- I ALWAYS attend comic conventions in Truro BUT the ones I attend are always run by UKCGF - UK Comic Con and Gaming Festivals
Due to the huge amount of advertising I anticipated today's Con would be well attended so my problem was, do I attend because of potential footfall and because I am always present at Truro Conventions? I chose not to book a table as I will remain loyal to the brilliant lady who runs UKCGF. Not naming her as those in the know know her. The Con today by all accounts on social media today has been 'a waste of money' - there were no comics at a comic con!
Now the dilemna is - Has today's organisers (not naming them because I won't give them the publicity but suffice to say their adverts are ORANGE - has today destroyed the love of comic conventions taking place in Truro or worse overall in Cornwall.
I hope everything will still be good in the Cornish Comic Community - hope to see you all in Newquay on 29th August.
