💕🧡💗 Merry Christmas from me to you.

It's been a quiet year for Ruby Charles Design cushions. It has always been a side business, with me working full time in a prep school.

But this year, I have qualified as a Forest School leader and that, as well as being a TA to 6 year olds, it has taken a lot out of me and so I've paused the business. Trying to juggle it all was too much!

So, with 2026 approaching, I have no idea what awaits me, but I hope it's filled with laughter and joy, as much as possible!

I hope that wherever you are, whoever you're with, that you have a lovely Christmas and find joy and laughter too☺️

💕🧡💗 Happy Saturday and a new sofa delivered for us!

We've had a Loaf sofa for 4 years now and it's always been a massive disappointment and very uncomfortable. So, we decided to give it a fabulous clean and sell it and have been seduced by this fabulous company, Sofa Club, for our new one.

I came across them on and they are a small family run company that offer the most comfiest sofas! After visiting one of their showrooms near me in Hertford, I was hooked. Fantastic customer service and after placing the order, it was delivered in 24 hours!

So what do you do when you have a new sofa and a new colour?! Add some funky new Ruby Charles Design cushions of course 😆

💕🧡💗 It's Friday, fancy a glass of wine with our cushions?!!

You don't need to ask me twice!!

My colourful range of cushions look just as good outside as they do inside. They're not waterproof so you will need to bring them in at night, or if there is a rain shower, but they can be washed, so it's all good.

Tbh, I just love to be surrounded by beautiful things in my garden, and my home, so I always take mine outside! And as its Friday, I small be taking something chilled with me too 😉🍸

💕🧡💗 This popped up on my memorues in Facebook yesterday! 10 years ago. With my flower business and now my cushion business, I have had some fabulous experiences 🤗

"Just delivered this bouquet to Amelia Fox who's filming her new series of the Silent Witness locally at Oaklands college.

It was so mad getting a phone call from Madonna's PA 😳 I thought it was a prank call at first and luckily didn't hang up! Nicky and I are totally blown away, and writing the card was particularly surreal - "Darling Mia, Good luck with the new series, love Madonna ###"

How bonkers is that???

Ruby and Charlie came to deliver it with Nicky (my sister), my mum and I (we were all hoping to get to see her!) and all the kids wanted to ask her was what it was like drinking her own wee on the Bear Grylls programme that she was on!

Wierdly they don't know who Madonna is 😉😉😉😉😉"

Affirmation of the day.... don't stop believing 😄

💕🧡💗 Have you been enjoying your garden this week? It has been so glorious. I have loved having some time to sit outside and enjoy the sun. It feels like the longest winter and I definitely feel happier and more optimistic when the sun is shining🌞

This week my cushions were very lucky to be tagged in some glorious photos at the picturesque
which belongs to the very cool and stylish interior designer, Anouska Lancaster.

Four years ago when I set up my cushion design business I approached Anouska to ask her if she would help promote my cushions. She was the first person that I ever asked and she has been a huge champion of my work, as well as other fabulous small female run businesses. She works incredibly hard on her interior design business, and as well as being a wife and a mum of four, she is also a host on QVC and just the nicest person 🤗

So when I got a notification this week that she had used some my cushions again in a photo shoot, I was super excited.

💕🧡💗 Right, the garden furniture is finally back out after the winter and it's officially Spring 🪻🌷

School finished for me yesterday lunchtime (I work as a TA 😊) and so I decided to get my lovely L shaped sofa out from the summer house. We brought this sofa about 7 years ago and it has been an amazing edition to our lives, especially in lockdown!

Today I am showing off my 'Distorted Purple Violas' faux suede cushion 💜

I love this design as it totally lifts my mood. I took the photo of the pretty cute violas through a glass bevelled heart and I love how the flowers become abstract and distorted and have created a really cool image. (Check out my stories for more photos)

💕🧡💗 I'm not solely about colour at Ruby Charles Design.

I also love pattern and that is why I loved doing my textile degree at uni. It fuelled my passion for colour, pattern, texture and abstract images.

All my cushions are designs from photos that I have taken and these two beauties are a close up of disco balls on the left, and the centre of a peony flower on the right!

💕🧡💗 A different post from me today!

Can you help my lovely son (swipe to see a cool photo of him😊) who is looking for work experience this summer?

He is in his 2nd year of studying Graphic Design at uni and wants to get some experience in magazine design, advertising, editorial, in areas such as fashion, drinks, interiors, cars, gaming, travel etc.

He will be back home for the summer and we live in Hertfordshire, about 20 minutes north of London on the train. Ideally he'd love London, or Hertfordshire and surrounding areas would be great. He's looking for a couple of weeks if possible.

I know I'm biased 🥰 but he's a very talented designer, works hard, eager to learn and wants to get ahead after he finishes uni next year. He's kind, helpful and has a wicked sense of humour! (He gets that from me😆)
