The smallest actions can have the biggest impact 🌍

We’ve been working with the The Mermaid Inn Rye since 2025, helping them take simple steps towards a more sustainable way of hosting.

From hand soap in every restroom that we collect and refill, to the little bottles in your room that are cleaned and reused again and again

It’s all about reducing waste without compromising on experience.

If you’re staying with them soon, we have a small favour to ask please leave your bottles behind so we can refill and reuse them ♻️

Together, we can keep plastic out of our oceans and landfill.

Sustainability in hospitality is a shared effort and you are part of it.

We will be chatting all things summer skincare, sharing simple tips on sun protection and helping you understand what to actually look for without the overwhelm ☀️💆‍♀️

This Saturday, 8th November, we are pleased to have the Human Magpies in our foyer spot; with seasonal festivities in mind they will be demonstrating how they make wreaths, bunting and tinsel from discarded wrappers and single use plastics like dry cleaning bags...so please bring along cleaned items e.g. crisp packets, biscuit wrappers, thin white and veg plastic bags, bubble wrap plus Christmas colours and foils come and join in the fun.
We won't be running a Cafe in December, so bring forth those things you've been meaning to get looked at, glued, stitched, tweaked, tested, repaired and we'll see what we can do. Or wait 'til January!

🎄🎶 Christmas Dinner Evening with Choir at the nature reserve - Saturday 6 December, 5.15pm - 7.15pm 🎶🎄
Join us for one of our popular dinner evenings, surrounded by views of the night sky through our expansive Discovery Centre windows. To get you into the festive spirit, we're offering a Christmas meal with a special performance from local choir, 'The Sage Mavericks'. Enjoy carols and seasonal songs as you arrive and between courses.

Here's what guests said about our last dinner with a view:

🍲 Start the evening with warming Curried Lentil, Parsnip & Apple soup, served with croutons.
🍽️ Then choose from Roast Turkey with all the trimmings, or Chestnut, Spinach & Blue Cheese En Croûte, both served with roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
🍊 For dessert there's a choice of homemade Christmas Pudding served with brandy sauce, or Chocolate & Orange Panettone Bread & Butter pudding served with vanilla custard.
All freshly made. We source responsibly and support local suppliers.

🍾It’s a ‘bring your own’ evening with no corkage fee, so don’t forget to bring along your favourite bottle of wine or ale. Cold non-alcoholic drinks and teas & coffees will be available to buy.
The price for three courses is £29.95 per person. Our child (or small appetite) half-size portion is £15.95. Proceeds from this event support Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and the Discovery Centre.

We’re getting into the festive spirit because… our big Christmas Market is coming!
