We are very excited to announce that the Douglas Dakota will be performing a flypast on the public day of The Big Battle of Abbots Bromley!!!

We are very grateful to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight for sending across their star aircraft for this year to support the show. Here at Big Battle HQ we had a wonderful chat with the Navigator Gp Capt Dutch Holland who has confirmed that the Dakota will perform 3 low passes over the centre of the arena - it's going to be epic!

The Douglas C47 Dakota is one of the most successful military transport aircraft designs in history, and was widely used by the Allies during World War Two. It's known for it's role in carrying troops into Normandy and Beyond on D-Day. This particular aircraft has just been finished in new markings and will be representing the RAF's South East Asia colour scheme from the war - we can't wait to see it.

This will be the icing on the cake of an amazing day!!!
