Here’s the final Spring flower fairy - buttercup 💛

If you’re a lover of yellow like me then this one will be a perfect make for your bookshelf to brighten up your home all year.

You’re not too late to join the Beyond Thumbelina CAL starting Monday as we’re talking a nice easy pace through the first few days to cover all the basics. Videos will all be saved so you can watch back in the future and will be very useful for anyone making a mini doll.

Can you believe our Kew workshop was this time last week?

Seven days have flown by again, and as I sit here pondering putting on a jumper and woolly socks, I can’t believe what a difference a week has made to the weather! ☀️

The Bird of Paradise video is now available over on our channel, and am very excited to say that tickets to our next event are now available for a 22nd July workshop in the Nash conservatory (tickets here: https://www.kew.org/kew-gardens/whats-on/crochet-flower-workshop )

I hope you’ve all had a lovely week, and with the forecast looking decidedly wet here this weekend I am looking forward to a couple of days with lots of crochet stitches in!

Meet the Cherry Blossom fairy. 🍒

Guardian over the ripening of the cherries on our trees here at TOFT, she’s complete with Peony and Pink ruffles and wings made of four Chive leaves.

The CAL runs 8th-19th June and will cover all the basics of making and customising a mini doll and then run through lots of techniques relating to the different flower fairy designs.

Let me introduce each flower fairy as we countdown to the crochetalong starting 8th June.

This is Wisteria made here in Violet, Lime and Chive complete with an asymmetric spray of flowers and photographed here in the last of my flowers from this spring.

Yesterday evening I had the absolute pleasure of crocheting along with 150 people in the world’s biggest surviving Victorian glasshouse. Surrounded by over 1500 species of plants from 5 continents (6 of which are extinct in the wild) we started making a bird of paradise plant.

The bird of paradise is a unique design with removable flower stems that slot into the plant or can be displayed seperately.

Hosting large crochet workshops in inspiring spaces is an integral part of TOFT, and are always some of the real highlights of the year (and decades!) for the whole TOFT team.

Lots more photos and video to follow from the workshop itself as I pour a coffee and enjoying looking back at an amazing evening of fantastic company, fun stitches and some brilliant chats about what we all love making. 💚💚💚
