Weigh-Ted Pets and Teddies Weigh-Ted Pets and Teddies are a weighted blanket alternative, cute, engaging and easier to use.

As a foster carer, meltdowns and tantrums are common for all age groups. Experience taught me that while weighted blankets do work, they were impractical to carry around and the benefits limited to at home. I wanted to create something that would offer the same great calming, anchoring effects of simulating a touch or hug, but that could be easily carried and used outside the home, without undue a

ttention. Many of our foster children and friends and family of all ages have tried these out, testing them, with very positive effects.

A sewing tool I can't do without! 8
My haemostats are a vital tool when I'm making my plushies. They have such a great grip, making it much easier to hold, pull, turn and position those fiddly little pieces.
One of those tools you might not immediately think of for sewing-but once you have them, you'll wonder how you managed without them!

🧵 Getting ready for the sewing machine’s grand return! 🧵✂️
Today we’ve been busy cutting, cutting and cutting some more, getting everything ready for when our sewing machine comes home from the repairers! 🥰
We’ve got a whole lineup of bunnies 🐰 and stingrays 🐟 waiting patiently to be stitched together and turned into lovely weighted pets.
The machine might be having a little holiday, but we’re definitely not! 😂 There’s plenty happening behind the scenes.

We’ve got some adorable bunnies and bears waiting patiently to be stuffed and brought to life. 🥹🧸🐰
They’re not quite ready for their big debut yet, but they’ll be coming to the shop very soon! ✨
I can’t wait to see these little guys go from flat pieces of fabric to proper cuddly, squishy weighted pets. 🥰

Today’s update is NOT good news… 😭🧵
Our sewing machine has officially been sent off to sewing machine hospital for some much-needed repairs. 🏥🪡
But don’t worry — we’re not sitting around twiddling our thumbs! 😂
While our trusty machine is being fixed, we’re going to be getting LOADS of pets cut out and prepped, ready for the moment she comes home and we can get straight back to sewing! 🐻🦎🐾✂️
So there may be a little less sewing happening for a while… but there will be LOTS of fluffy things in the pipeline! 👀💕
Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery! 🤞🧵

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at the steps that went into making this very special weighted dinosaur. ✂️🧵✨
This one was a bespoke order for a very special customer, so every step was made with extra care and lots of love. 🥰
From cutting out all the pieces, to sewing, stuffing, adding the weight and finally bringing this cuddly dino to life… it was so lovely watching him take shape! 🦖💚
There’s something extra special about creating a completely unique weighted pet that’s made especially for one person. 💕
