Strood Community Shop

Strood Community Shop Strood Community Shop CIC is a facility created by and funded by the community of Strood. We are so m We are so much more than just a shop!
(6)

We provide employment development and opportunities for young people, and also employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities. We also have Chatty Corner, our community meeting space, where anyone who is lonely or wants to meet new people can come and have a chat and a cuppa. On weekdays between 10am and 12 noon there is always someone there to chat to, but you can turn up any time

and meet whoever is available. On Monday we have an arts & crafts activity, whilst on Fridays we have our Knit & Natter sessions, where people can share their passion for knitting and set the world to rights at the same time. Every penny we raise in our shop goes back into our community. We are funded by the items you donate, so we wouldn't be here without the help of our community. We then donate everything we raise to one of five charities that work in Strood:
1) Club Ausome - who provide engaging activities from Strood Youth Centre for people with autism and learning disabilities, helping to build their confidence
2) Young Medway - who run Strood Youth Centre, providing a range of youth activities
3) Unit1 Skatepark - who provide youth diversionary activities and case work with young people in need in our area.
4) North Kent Mind - who run mental health support activities in our area.
5) Cruse Bereavement Care - who support people who are recently bereaved.
