When people come in the shop and say “Oo it smells lovely in here” I have to take some credit for smelling divine myself, and that’s thanks to our plant-powered natural deodorants🌱

🌱Now available in a bicarb-free version for sensitive skin, deodorants utilise natural ingredients to absorb sweat, tackle odour-causing bacteria and nourish your skin at the same time - all in eco-friendly, plastic-free packaging.

Why do I recommend it:
🌱Smells lovely - see above!
🌱Lasts ages: as in it lasts all day on me, and a tin lasts ages because you only need a tiny bit - it is therefore…

This week I’m recommending a couple of Ripon Theatre Festival events rather than GreenHouse products, but I think there are some huge overlaps between the two. I’ll let you figure out why!

🎭The first is ‘Batty’ which sounds right up our street…
“Calling all Wild Women! Take a dip into some relatable, funny and moving theatre this July. Batty has a wild side.. she dreams of running barefoot, wild swimming, of talking trees, strange animals and the scent of the seasons turning. In fact she’s starting to wonder if she might be a witch… “

🎭The second is ‘Stitch in Time’, where you can knit along 🧶
“An award-winning cabaret of the “lost” knitting songs of WWI and WWII from Canada, Britain, America, and France. Feel free to bring your knitting (or crochet) and stitch along to these funny, poignant, toe-tapping, needle-clicking tunes. Come out and have a ball!”

Today, 28th May, is Menstrual Hygiene Day, a global movement aiming for a Period Friendly World, and campaigning to end period poverty.

At The GreenHouse, we’re keen to source the most eco-friendly option that also works well - as with all our products. And consistently Menstrual Cups are identified as the gold standard, both in terms of comfort and convenience, as well as eco-friendliness.

🌱Menstrual cups use medical grade silicone to produce a soft, flexible cup, can be left in place for up to 12 hours, and just require hot water cleaning after use. Planet-wise, they have the lowest carbon footprint of all period products.

🌱If cups aren’t for you, or you want something for lighter days, reusable pads are the next best option. Our pads are handmade by Jo at Holla Home Crafts neat Ripon, and have been thoroughly researched - they are super soft, absorbent and contain an antibacterial silver layer. Simply b**g them in a cool machine wash after use.
